Don't do it, go solo for now until you meet naturals you can go out with. Try out your local lair but be warned, most of those guys are fucking creepers that are really just going to put you in the wrong head-space. Don't ever talk about this stuff with friends unless you notice they've taken an interest in it, there's a huge stigma around the pickup community and it's largely well deserved. Especially don't talk to girls about it, if shit goes wrong they might attempt to turn your friends against you by telling them about it. If you're really tight with a guy, then go ahead and tell him, just be sure that the two of you are close to being brothers before you do.

I've told all my friends. They don't really care. I think the world would be a better place if more nerds/geeks became better with women, overpowering the jocks in the eternal struggle for domination.

As far as getting your friends involved, it's doubtful if they even want to commit to such self improvement. It took a long process of self-realization before I truly realized how horrible I was with women.

Just like any other technique that requires training, telling people of its existence will not mean they will instantly be able to wield its power with impunity. The core of pickup technique is pretty much common knowledge (confidence), it's just the implementation that people have trouble with.

For me, finding a suitable wingman has been a challenge among friends who are too lazy to go downtown and pick up chicks. Most of them just won't be committed to it as much as you are, and if they're not interested, there's little you can do to change that.

You seem to be suffering a lot from approach anxiety. If you can't approach any beautiful women, approach all women, beautiful or not. If you can't even approach women, just approach men. Take this one step at a time. If you can't even approach men, just approach bored cashiers or something.

I tell them about things that I do, e.g. one of my personal goals not long ago was to open 20 strangers in a week to try and get over AA. Had a chat about social norms with a couple of my friends. This is mainly so they'll hold me to my goals if they hear about it.

I've also hinted at it when I was talking to some girls who thought pickup was for creepers and I said I didn't see any problems with a guy trying to improve himself at something he's bad at.

Otherwise no. Not unless I really trusted the person.

You have to be absolutely certain they are really your friends before you tell them. I told people I thought were my friends and they just told me I was acting weird and tried to discourage me and tell me how I just need to be more attractive.

Unless you see a real benefit to it, I don't see it being worth the risk when you're just starting out. Once you get the, "I don't give a fuck" attitude, well then, you can tell them if you want to because who gives a fuck.

Do not. They won't respond positively, and will likely think you're just weird. They may even tell women you know about it! Let your new confidence, attitude and success with women speak for itself. You know they're ready when they ask you for help with women. Then share.

If you want brothers-in-arms, find yourself a Lair, or create your own. I did.

Ive mentioned it to 2 of my roommates. They think it sounds cheezy but ive done things in front of them i said i was goin to, got the reaction i wanted and they were a little taken back like "no shit?" They still think its weird though

Talk to them about it in baby steps to test the waters but chances are they will react negatively. My friends are almost as bad as me when it comes to girls but any time I have talked about a pickup technique or tell them about an article I read, they look at me weirdly and say something that implies they are the shit and don't need to read about this kind of stuff, only losers do, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, then I punch them in the face.

No. I don't really have men friends. They're useless socially, useless personally, useless professionally. I prefer women friends. I never have enough women friends.

Oops, I realized I have told one male friend, who I have never met in person, my editor in London. I was pitching a book. He knows what kind of crazy ideas I get, so he's used to that sort of thing, but I didn't really get any reaction out of him, pro or con, on either pickup OR the book.
