It's funny how I always hear women complain about men being unoriginal or boring, and yet when I see their Tinder convos, it's still the men putting all of the effort into being witty and funny. When the women try to be funny, it's usually in the form of memes I've seen before, or "lol I love tacos and eating [it's funny because I'm a pretty girl so you should expect me to be all dainty and pretty and fancy and shit, but actually I'm human and like to eat stuff haha]."

That’s how it works man. Especially on dating apps. Think about it, these girls get hundreds of matches a week, what makes you so special? Unless you’re extremely attractive, that’s how these interactions will go. I’d recommend going out in real life where you’re able to level the playing field. If you’re stern on staying on these dating apps, think of yourself as a comedian, in the sense that you have to sell yourself in order to make YOU the “catch.”

These girls have been conditioned by the fact that every match starts the convo for them, they realize they don’t have to. I find I have a lot less respect for girls on tinder compared to girls I daygame. Tinder girls are one night stands and nothing more.

Females put in minimum effort and demand the men entertain them.

If you really want to do well on tinder, ig, or any other dating apps, you'd have to put in a ridiculous effort and the results will still be marginal in case of everything but IG.

The flip side is that the men largely view the women as "look good for me."

Men want looks in women. Women want confidence, status and entertainment in men.

The women are therefore putting in their side of the conversation in just looking good. That's their part of the deal, at least if they just want casual sex.

In addition to what OppressedKoreanMale said, they get a lot of matches AND deal with a ton of dudes who open with dick pics and/or by jumping straight into propositioning them for sex. Yes, as their openers.

This screens out a lot of the more earnest women right off the bat, leaving behind bots, bored girls, etc. So right off, realize that dating apps is not even really socializing and should never be the main focus for your social life. At best, it should be something you run on the side and maybe check once every day or so.

In any case, if the replies are always short, then you're having a bad run (which is frequent on such apps) or something you're doing is resulting in short answers. It's hard to say because you left out the very important information of what you have been messaging.

Also, you're not supposed to be trying to "keep a conversation going" on an app! The apps are there to broker a meet in real life. You message a few times at a maximum, enough to find out that you're both human. Maybe 5-6 times. Then you invite them to meet-up. It's not a conversation and if you've been approaching it that way, then that's part of the problem.
