Hmm - I think first date you both manage your own transportation. If either decide to dip - it wasn’t meant to be. I get it might be like ghosting - but wouldn’t you want to know, rather than investing more time and money into someone who had already made their mind up?

I've brought girls back to mine when we both went to the date spot in our own cars. She just followed my car home. It's not really that weird or big of a deal. I also wouldn't combine activity then food like that if they aren't next to each other. Just meet her for a drink or coffee, then invite her back to yours.

Just play it by feel. If you think she would be down to ride together suggest it but don’t make it a big deal.

Use this topic to talk with her, to see how and what she thinks. Offer her all options so she would feel that you involve her in the planning and that you take charge as well.

Or she could just give you a “meh” attitude then you can act accordingly.

I would preferably ride together in one car during the date, and use two cars only as means of transportation to and from the date.

I think either is fine, I've done both. On a first date situation I think both people driving can be better because you don't have the added pressure of having to get driven back if the date goes south for whatever reason.

Let her drive you two to dinner and after dinner suggest going straight to her place instead of picking up your car.
