Recently, I've become a believer of the growth mindset philosophy. It's slowly permeating every aspect of my life and I'm afraid I'm using it incorrectly in dating.

Every experience I have, I try to have it with a girl that was (subjectively) better than the previous one. This implies that there is someone better than the girl I am currently dating. Here, by better I not only mean prettier, better personality etc., but also a better fit. This is obviously not a healthy mindset to have.

For example, sometime ago, I was seeing this girl, let's call her "A". I liked her but I was falling out of it slowly (for many reasons). One of the reasons was that I had met someone else that I fancied, "B". She had things that A didn't have. Ended things with A (not just because of B but it was a catalyst for sure). Then I met "C". Girl of my dreams. But she lives far away and there's no real way for me to pursue her, but my mind is already drifting away from B. Now the reason I have a problem with this is what if another girl shows up, and she's even better than C? I can't keep doing this. I can't be perpetually unsatisfied.

Where am I going wrong? How do I fix my brain?
