Showed up at the meet up 30 minutes late (not to be fashionable- I'm just terrible at directions). The group is made up of ~10 redditors, half girls, ranging from 6s to 8s. I'm going to be making up names for people in the group as I go so bear with me. As soon as I sit down I hear shouted from across the table (that was fairly loud), "You there! What's your favourite subreddit?!" I look up to see Friendly Freshman, who's sitting next to a Perfect Eight. This gets the attention of the entire group, eyes on me. I explain that I like Askreddit, and this starts a group conversation about favourite subreddits. This dies down after awhile, and I'm left trying to elicit conversation from the people on either side of me- Mr.English Major and Quiet Couple. I open the three of them with generic stuff (what's your name/major/etc) but they are not the greatest conversationalists and got bored of them.

I begin to survey the group, and Perfect Eight catches my eye. Literally. She looked right back at me and I held eye contact until she looked away. On either side of Perfect Eight sits Friendly Freshman, who's got his meager game face on, and Meetup Organizer (HB8). I have no way to talk to Perfect Eight without yelling across the table which isn't my style so instead I sit and try to make do with those around me.

A few minutes pass and Meetup Organizer gets up to grab a drink so I go and steal her seat. I ignore Perfect Eight and talk to Friendly Freshman instead. I'm not originally from this country and it comes up in conversation- turns out Eight was from the same place too, so she pipes in and offers me a high five. I indulge, and begin to include her in the conversation. Generic things are discussed; she asks questions about about where I'm from and what I do and I make sure to not give away anything too easily ("Guess" works wonders).

The group decides to move on to another bar that has a local band playing so we depart. On the walk over I isolate Eight, and I don't even remember what we talked about. I did give her my phone and tell her to put in her number, "In case we got lost"- we were lagging behind the group as we walked. We arrive at the 'concert' and I offer my hand to Eight in a, "let's dance" motion. Dancing commences (drunken swaying, not dirty grinding), but after awhile she began to look bored. She told me she thought the music sucked, so I asked if she wanted to go and grab another drink. She told me the first bar we went to was on the way back to her house and suggested we stop there- I oblige, and we bounce on.

After the drink I completely lie and tell her I just missed my bus and need a place to crash (NOTE: I only did this because A) by this time I was getting many many IOIs, walking with linked arms and B) she had previously mentioned that I should come see the view from her apartment sometime). She smiles and says, "well, alright". We walk towards her place. I pull out tic-tacs and offer her one and she readily accepts. At some point on the walk there after a short pause in conversation I stopped walking and pulled her in for the kiss. She tells me she isn't going to sleep with me tonight and I told her that was fine. At some point we discussed how many other people we'd slept with. Of course I tell her to guess- she guesses 15-30! I smile and tell her that she will be seventh girl that I will have slept with.

At her place she tells me I can sleep on her couch in the living room. I start undressing and she just watches. I turn and ask, "what?". She kisses me and then one of her roommates comes in. Eight turned bright red, and I stood there like a boss- asked her roommate how it was going. A couple awkward seconds later I suggest we go to her bedroom but I promise that I'll keep my hands to myself. I did but she couldn't! After awhile she stops and says she can't sleep with me- she hardly knows me. I say it's fine, and that it takes a whole seven hours after meeting for people to be comfortable sleeping together (taken from The Game)- it had only been six. We talk for an hour more, she initiates, and deal is sealed.

TL;DR outcome independence, confidence, and not appearing to be too easy. Still seeing this girl- she's pretty cool, geeky girls are definitely my type.
