5 months ago, I was dumped by my high school sweetheart. We dated for 4 years and she left me for a guy at her college. It destroyed me. I planned on marrying her. It sent me into a spiral of insecurity, drug abuse, and alcoholism.

She left me not only for this new guy, but because I had settled down and stopped chasing my dreams. That was the person she fell in love with, and he turned into a little bitch who did everything and anything to please his girlfriend and make her the center of his life. I don't blame her. That shit gets old. She doesn't need a servant, she needs someone determined and focused on his goals.

So after 2 months of weekly therapy, I stopped getting wasted every night and being obsessed with Tinder. It got me 2 drunk rebounds which helped my confidence though. I started to focus on myself and what I really wanted in life, (read: not on what girl(s) I wanted in life).

I picked up a new hobby, stand up comedy, something I've always wanted to do. I followed it like a dog chasing a car. 5 nights a week, minimum. I stopped wasting time on friends who don't mean anything to me. I focused on self improvement, my goals, and those close to me understood.

As soon as I stopped thinking about girls, they slowly trickled in. It's much easier to genuinely not care than to fake being some alpha who doesn't care, you're not that good of an actor. I had 2 rebounds off tinder and then 3 other girls who I went on multiple dates with and closed with. I was the one who called off all 5 of those flings and I hate to say it, but it felt nice to be in control of that for once.

Anyways, in one of my classes, there was a girl I always had an eye on. One day after class, I was sitting outside and she came up to me for a cigarette (don't worry I just quit). As her guy friends were approaching, I handed her my phone and told her to put her number in. She did.

After a coffee date and taking her to one of my shows, she was hooked. I was thrilled. We started spending a lot of time together and I knew I was doing well when a girl who I thought was out of my league asked me "I'm not fishing for compliments, but why me of all girls?"

I'm going to ask her to be my girlfriend in a few weeks and I know you guys might disagree but I don't really give a shit (updated in comments). Call it oneitis or whatever you want but she seems to have what I'm looking for and I don't have the time/energy to continue the single life right now.

Thank you for helping me realize that the path to women isn't in chasing them, it's in chasing your dreams and hoping someone along the way notices. Because they will. It's attractive as fuck.

EDIT: My main takeaway and piece of advice: DONT FOCUS ON GETTING GIRLS it only manifests insecurity. When your whole day is circling around how many girls you talk to or how many numbers you get or how many f/k-closes you do, you're going to be tough on yourself and discouraged. That also becomes your hobby. What're you going to tell her when she asks what you do in your free time? Browse redpill and seddit? Read seduction books? Maybe you'll say you work out and study, but everyone does that. You're boring as fuck. Learn to love yourself and chase a dream/passion and girls will come to you. No girl wants to be your goal, they want to join you on the journey to achieving your goal. Remember that and you'll be extremely successful.
