Then don't talk so much about yourself and have a genuine interest in the other person and focus the conversation there. Not only will they enjoy the conversation more, you'll maintain a bit of mystery for yourself.

If you just yak about yourself, the other party will likely listen just to be polite but wishes she were talking to someone else more interesting.

i play a game where i try to find out as much about her as possible without her finding out anything about me. this also helps me gauge her interest in me because if shes really interested she will ask questions and try to get to know me

Conversation is cool, I like to have a good conversation with my buddies but with a chick I just don't go for the conversation, I go to feel her, so conversation is the "shell" the real objective is feeling and non verbal are what get you to feel. So eye contact, slightly touching, smiling, moving closer, whispering, kissing, fucking sucking... Escalation. And the shell can be anything in common, like what she likes drinking if you're in a bar.

Like, /u/CompetitionFair7686 has some great examples in some of his (her?) comments. You establish mystery by just focusing on fun and personal chemistry and not on the rote facts of who you are.

You can do a fair amount of that on more chill one on one dates but it will sink you in night game. And if you do do it, mix it up. You can tell her you have three siblings when she asks and then explain that they were your reward for slaying a vampire in an eastern European village.
