At the very least, looks do matter in the sense that you should do everything within your control to maximize them. You can only work with the hand you're dealt, but you should seek to become the best version of yourself possible even if only to improve your confidence.

Looks matter in the sense that, if you weren't born with the chiseled features of a Greek god, you will want to emphasize the other things you have to offer, which is the point you make in your post. In other words, people born with good looks don't have to try quite as hard. But, as long as you're willing to try, you too can succeed. 99% of the whining on this sub about "Chads" is really just the result of laziness. You don't want to put out the effort required to put your best foot forward. So, instead, you log on to Reddit and whine about how life is cruel and all women are conspiring against you (this is the road that leads to incel-ism, BTW).

There's only so much you can do to improve your looks. By all means, do that. And then stop thinking about whether looks matter or not, because there's nothing else you can do about it.

I mean if you're short, does it make sense to create a post asking: do chicks dig short guys?

WTF? Does it matter? You're short, period. Look your best, develop solid game and that's it.

Worrying about things you can't change is just a defense mechanism to prevent you from having to work on the things you CAN change.

Don't fall into that trap. Work on your game/life and shut up about the rest ;)

Nothing matters, except knowing yourself and loving yourself entirely.

I don't work out, I dress as bland as you can get (jean and white tee-shirt), I'm not very funny, I'm not that confident (to the point I let the girls do most of the initiation and escalation), I'm average-looking and I'm also 5'5. I'm perfectly fine with all of that.

I have other qualities : I listen very well, I know how to touch and hug, I'm very comfortable with my body, I can have deep and intimate conversations no matter the setting and I'm really present to the moment. I'm very joyful, I know how to make and receive compliments, I'm almost never uncomfortable, I can maintain eye contact and express myself through non-verbal communication. I'm authentic and don't pretend to be someone I'm not. I'm good at expressing my feelings and making the person safe, heard and valued. I'm also good at making friends and understanding group dynamics so I know pretty much instantly who is interested by who in a group and how to fit in it.

Don't invest on things you don't value. Invest on who you are and what is meaningful for you. There is nothing more attractive than someone who is deeply inspired by the life they're living.

Looks matter but not as much as other things such as game, money, style, personality and experience. I agree with others look your best but then move on. I do know ugly guys with girls I would consider 7s-8s they make up for it.

You tend to need 'game' to seal the deal (even if she thinks you're hot)

However, without 'looks' she will never ever give you a chance. She needs to be physically attracted to you. If she isn't, no amount of negs and teasing and jokes and stories, or no amount of 'being present' and 'on your path as a man' will make her want to sleep with you.
