Is r/seddit for real?

Keep in mind, in addition to what these guys have said, seddit is made up of thousands of different people with different viewpoints. One guy might be a manipulative player, another guy might be a husband trying to put the spark back in the relationship. There are articles and material that exist for both of those guys, and stuff that exists to help literally anyone in any situation.

Seddit, namely, tends to focus more on inner game and self-improvement stuff (at least in terms of the advice you'll see). That doesn't mean you won't see things that sound manipulative, or read about guys who sound like misogynistic pricks. The important thing is to keep an open mind, and try to make the discussion beneficial/helpful for both parties.

Btw, Double Your Dating is one of the more highly recommended things here, along with Blueprint Decoded, Magic Bullets, etc. The seduction world these days is much more focused on improving your life and your mindset, getting rid of limiting beliefs, and shit like that. Here at seddit we're much less focused on scripted shit, though you'll see discussions of it from time to time. It's basically just a place for regular guys to get and give advice (that's hopefully backed up by experience).

/r/seddit exists, but it's a placeholder to redirect people here, to /r/seduction. We refer to it as seddit informally. I'm sure you meant that, but just thought I'd clarify, since it's in your title.

Seddit doesn't really have any specific core principles. We discuss all sorts of different seduction and self-improvement systems. Yes, it's real, although I would disagree that this is manipulation or deception. One of the key concepts in pickup I like is "congruency." If you lie or are deceptive, you are "incongruent" with your true self, and you give off the impression of being deceitful, and you can't conceal that. IMHO most of pickup is about getting to your true inner feelings and conveying your personality in the most attractive way that you can. Most of us in seddit never really learned the subtleties of social interactions with women. Women are masters of that game, so we have to learn how to play the game better.

I personally started with David DeAngelo back in the day. I've been a part of the community since and yes, its all about core principles. People think its manipulative because often times noobies will use routines, lines and other made up material in order to help learn how these core principles work. All of that stuff functions essentially as training wheels. So yes, its all about the principles. The other thing is that YOU are the one who applies all this crap. If you read something that sounds manipulative (and you will see that on here) don't use it. Simple as that.

Point is there is a shit ton you can learn from this community. No matter who you are.

Don't view seddit as a place with techniques. This is more like a bar where you hang out with bros and talk about what "works". Some do think this is about shortcuts or tricks or manipulation. But you don't have to listen to them either. (And really, I don't think it would work)
What does work is improving yourself.
This means getting your life in order, understanding that you have to stop putting people on pedestals, and also, that you can learn how to communicate in other ways then with words.
You can say to a girl that you don't want her, that you don't like her, and at the same time, tell her the complete opposite with your body and your touch, and she will understand. People call that kino, but, it's basically physical communication. You can learn stuff like that here. But, if you expect "The sure fire recipe for sucess" then, you'll get frustrated and just angry.

So yes, it's "for real" if you are asking if we are a bunch of people talking about stuff which happen to be about "interacting with people for dummies". lol

putting myself out on a bit of a limb here but:

i'm a woman who lurks a bit here, and as far as it being "real", there is solid advice on attracting women to be found here. along with that, there is advice given sometimes that would make me RUN from a guy, but nothing can be perfect.

it might seem predatory, and some of it (the RUN!! advice bits i see) is. but as is often said here, you can't look at it as just picking up chicks. it's about being a better man. and bettering yourself isn't weak, it's kind of hot.

It's normally just called seddit, no r/seddit, but personal preference is yours.
I've recently looked into a guy calling himself 60 years of challenge, and while I'm not nearly close to being called a pua, I suggest you check it out. There's a free ebook on his site, which I can link to if requested.

I'm married but I like to hang out here because it's quite a boost so that a married man doesn't slip into beta mode the rest of his life.

Learning game is good in marriage. Preselection, DHV, kino and the like talked about here is essential in a sex-filled marriage. Since there's not much room for deception (plus we're married, there's not much that she doesn't know now) but there is plenty of room for making sure I'm taking care of my appearance and staying attractive to her and her girlfriends. That's why this is a great place to be for me.

edit: add confidence to that list. Being confident is very sexy. Being rewarded for being sexy is a great positive feedback loop as well.

If I had to say there was a core principle, it would be to make the reader a more attractive man to women. Its not, as many people think, to just get girls or get that "one girl" that some guy is having trouble getting. I'd say its more of a self-awareness and personal development process.

I supplement this subreddit by following malefashionadvice, mansformation, and fitness subreddits just to name a few.

I like seddit a lot. It's got a much more genuine, "lets help each other" feel than the lair I'm also a part of. FRs are generally posted for feedback and introspection instead of "Hey! I fucked a bitch in the bathroom alleyway!"

Seddit is really just a resource of information that can be applied to changing your own life. All these things require time and dedication from the part of the user. But yes, if you actually internalize it, it'll change your life.

This is a subreddit for people that read and follow source material like the David DeAngelo types, Mystery types, Tyler(RSD) types, etc.

I see very little "original" material on seddit and I'd wager 70-80% don't understand said source material.

So, I would see this more as a forum of like-minded guys and source of possibly interesting FR, post and links. Not something with its own "core principles" or whether it could be judged a "sham" anymore than the entire seduction community as a whole.
