Hey can you tell us some of the things that you did to build this self-sufficient life?
[–]WaterBottle70 25 points26 points27 points 8 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
Yes. First of all,I got my diet, gym and sleep schedule in place. At least 8h/night, 4 days a week in the gym and the keto diet. Then i decided to fulfill my life-long dream of buying a motorcycle which I kept putting off. At the same time I decided to give up gaming and sold my computer in order to get the bike. Best decision I've ever made. In accordance with my new bike, I decided to start studying bike mechanics in order to be able to fix it myself, also something I've always wanted to do. The last thing I changed was deciding to meet a new person every day for my personal development. So I either talk to strangers in coffee shops/ grocery stores, simply small talk to practice,or I go out with friends and meet people. I've met some surprising people/friends and of course,my gf.
The only bad thing was that I changed my lifestyle all of a sudden,it wasnt something planned over a longer period if time. I simply decided to do all this starting torrow and I kept with it. But all these changes were pretty stressful for both my mind and body, would not recommend to take up all of this at once.
[–]WaterBottle70 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Not to mention, because of the keto diet I've already lost 5kg which gave a me huge confidence boost. I think the most important thing is to find the things that matter to you and make short and long term plans in order to achieve it. This way you become self sufficient,a man with purpose.

So you're saying selling my Xbox and going to a normal sleep schedule might be beneficial? Lol
[–]t1mman 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
If you are playing XBox instead of getting in shape or sleeping, yes it will. How can you expect a girl to want your D if you can't run a staircase without being out of breath! How can you expect her to feel safe and protected if your not able to stand straight, how can she expect anything from a child playing vidya games instead of having real tangible goals?
BTW: I do game, but I also play music, do a couple of marathons a year, get out, eat well, have a career. Gaming is fine if it's part of a balanced life.
[–]SJW_Valor 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
No I workout quite a bit I just play Xbox one too many games at night and would probably help my sleep schedule if I didn't
[–]t1mman 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Sleep is at least half the work in workout. Don't oversee it. It'll help you achieve better results, be more focused, have a clear mind and be more efficient.
[–]SJW_Valor 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah schools ending now and I'll have more time to focus on myself more
[–]tab13092 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I mean, if you possibly cant will yourself to do it on your own then probably a good call hah.
I game, and sense highschool have been stuck in a horrible sleep schedule (mid 20's and generally in bed by midnight) but I have just occupied that time with more productive things (especially during weekdays so I stay in work mode and on task) and just started taking melatonin to adjust my sleep schedule.
[–]WaterBottle70 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes,taking melatonin is a good choice. I also use it when I want to fix my sleep cycles. Although,be aware not to use it for extended periods of time. I once used it for 2 months straight and when I stopped I couldnt sleep at night for a couple of days.

Can you give some examples how you're meeting people at coffee shops, grocery stores, what do you talk about with them? Most of the girls I meet are through night game but I wanna utilize other places to meet them especially when running errands.
Also is that where you met your girlfriend?
[–]WaterBottle70 11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I met my girlfriend because one day I was at the train station to buy tickets and I overheard these 2 guys saying they had just arrived in town and were wondering where to go to visit. So I opened them and offered to show them around,I didnt have any plans for the day and I thought hell, why not, interesting experience. Long story short, come night, they meet up with more of their friends and invite me as well and it was there where I met her. It's funny how these small random encounters can change your life.

You dont have to overthink it,just say whatever. If soemething is happening around you and both you and a person are noticing it, talk to them about it. Talk to them about the weather if you see they are feeling warm/cold,about the kind of coffee you want to get if you are in a coffee shop, about best deals in grocery stores, etc. Just say something and if it starts a conversation, good,if not, also good, you've done your part. It helps a lot opening up strangers talking about whatever, I find that you become more socially adept. And I've only been doing it for the past 2 weeks. People are surprisingly receptive if you are nice and open too.

This is assuming you already have game and can get dates with women? See I already go to the gym and im definitely not fat and sleep pretty well. I work on my school and I hang out with friends. I haven't been gaming much but I still don't attract women. I'm assuming you're having success now because you already had the ability to get women.
[–]Xycotic 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Probably because you're not actually meeting new people. You can have a life, hobbies, friends, sleep well, work out. And it's all well and good, but it's comfortable. I realized that I wasn't meeting new people after I had got a friend base. I got comfortable. So, and I don't know your life, just talk to people. For the fuck of it. Eventually shit will work out.

Preach!

Good to know, I’ve been taking it off an on for a few months now. Generally, I try to be in bed by 10 so if I’m not tired by then I’ll take some which usually does the trick. After a fashion, my body gets used to the cycle and I’m already yawning by 9pm.

"Built the field and they will come!"
I keep telling folks in here that all of the tactics and what not are just to "fake" a well balanced, fulfilling life. This is another testimonial toward it!

best advice that could ever be given. too many guys focus on "game" when they are actually boring, out of shape and don't really have anything interesting about themselves. living for nothing but some office job or something lame. putting very little effort into self development in reality.
the best qualities that attract the opposite sex you'll ever develop will be that which comes naturally from developing your own life and life style. make lots of friends, look for social circles, find your dream job, build willpower, take care of your body, live wild, create, flourish, love life!
feels like basically all the flirting and attraction just sort of comes naturally when you have everything else in order... at least for me. I think you can always further to develop your social skills but an extraordinary, positive life will take care 90% of it
[–]camillus_ 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah, but as someone said, it’s like to buy an helicopter to go for groceries. Normal people, the vast majority, have girlfriends and date girls without even thinking about reaching all those amazing but veeeeery ambitious objectives.
[–]adventureman915 points 8 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
I see your point but let's think about this. The way you wrote this post frames my point's sole objective as a means to an end to attract the opposite sex but it isn't. It's actually much greater than than. You should be doing a whole lot more with you life and you should be doing it for more reasons than just trying to date women. You have plenty of room actually to develop all sorts of awesome qualities. Most people often settle for a very average existence when in reality there is actually an abundance of wonder where life is not a zero sum game. The greatest success you'll have with women will often come as a byproduct of the amazing qualities you develop as a person. Much of the confusion just sort of melts away and there is just this sense of knowing and things just go smoothly in many areas of your life. I'm not saying don't practice your dating, game, social skills, whatever... we can all always look for things to make us more bold and increase our chances finding things we want. I'm saying you can't rely on just that to find something really fulfilling with the opposite sex. Unless maybe it's just a one night stand or something like that but I'm not into that. Sorry, I'm rambling a little bit and of course always seeking more knowledge and experiences to better my self and my dating.

So how did these changes make people approuch you? How did these things show to other people and make them like you more?
[–]OnlyOnceThreetimes 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Haha 2 weeks? How the hell does anyone build a life in 2 weeks? I totally agree with your advice, but usually finding your center takes many months.
