I (25F) have a very close cousin who is a great guy but he seems to have serious trouble interacting with women at all.

He's 23, has a pretty damn good job for his age as an up and coming voice actor for various projects. He has his own apartment and car and he's actually very responsible for a guy his age who live alone. All he does are 3 things, work, gym and video games/movies. His work takes up a lot of time but he works out like 2-3 times a week for the past year or so and he's lost a ton of weight and gained muscle, he's very passionate about video games and movies (mostly the voice and sound work) so he's kind of a nerd in that respect.

He goes to very few social gatherings because he's kind of shy around women. I notice this because he only hangs out with guys and when he's with them he's just himself but when there's a woman he either keeps to himself or leaves shortly after.

(BTW he's definitely not gay, I thoroughly checked)

To me (and according to my BF) he should be knocking it out of the park with the ladies but unfortunately when I speak to him about relationships/females he gets kind of deflated. I spoke to him the best I could while he was slightly drunk, something that he doesn't do often so I kind of took advantage to get info.

He seems to think that almost every guy is more handsome/hotter than he is. Even less handsome/heavy set guys he will say they have qualities that would be attractive to women such as eyes, hair, style, physique and personality. He thinks that he has very little to offer women considering he's never had held hands with a girl let alone had a GF or sex. He think women wouldn't like a guy who works in making voices. Even though he feels great after making good progress in the gym after doing it for a whole year he thinks he's still not up to women's standards for what they consider desirable.

He seems to have a very proud opinion of himself and all he's accomplished and he's a really great guy but as soon as women are involved he just shuts down and think of himself as not good enough for nearly any girl. I've seen women give him the wide eyes/head tilt clues but he seriously just doesn't see them and just let's the situation go.

I can tell that this does bother him but he somehow chooses to just not try with women and believe there is no hope. I'm really close to him and am planning to sit him down and talk with him about this in detail and I ask here if there is anything helpful that I can say or do or some kind of angle I should approach with to help him feel better about himself regarding women in specific because I can tell it bothers him and I truly want the best for him. I'll gladly answer any and all help with the best of my knowledge.
