My experiences:

- I approached 5 people in the gym  - I always ask questions for the opener.I can't bring myself to just say hello - All 5 people reacted very nice and helped me. One person even asked me for my name - I noticed another thing: when I walk through the city, most of the people avoid eye contact and are on their own
