I've had quite a few of those symptoms and I've had a friend with almost all of them. The worst part is that you're just left confused, because all you think you're doing is being as perfect as possible.

In the wild, training a domestic animal, children, girls, anything really if you do not show you are one to be respected you will not get any respect. It does not mean being a jerk, people seen as jerks don't really get respect either and often "nice" guys and being a jerk is a lot closer than you think. But anyway people with respect get what they want basically.

I don't totally agree with this list. You can definitely have self confidence and not be walked on while still being nice. I always tell people to be nice only to those who deserve it, and in reference with dating, you have to let the girl deserve it.

It's all true... however I will never forgive women for the seemingly culture wide misconception that being nice equates out to weakness; especially in light of the fact that it is often much harder to be nice than it is to be an ass. In fact all women of society should be thankful that we, the physically stronger and more athletic gender, don't simply completely subjugate them but then again... that's what they want anyway isn't it?
