As someone closer to your age than to teens’; I understand where you coming from. Totally different ball game.

I would say having an IG account would just help as a preliminary step. Especially for women. If they like what they see (status symbol, such as # of your followers, places you hang out, your friends, work, vacation, etc) then they might add you, if not then you’re just gonna be another follower. This is not even talking about getting into a game yet.

But no matter how the game is changing, I think the theme is always the same: in the end women choose. It’d be sad if you (you in general, not OP) already failed at this early step. She hasn’t thrown you any shit tests yet.

But I agree with your sentiment. Social media accounts are easily curated. You’d think that women don’t like to be lied to. But on the other hand…

Beats me bro. I'm 42. Feeling super out of touch. But I think the general sequence is this:

The male matches with a suitable and fertile female on a dating app. Male talks to the female for a couple of weeks on the app. Then, the male asks the female to give him her Instagram. She does that, so they move the conversation to Instagram. There the male spends another week or two trying to impress the female before he asks for her Snap. Once he has obtained the Snap, he has moved up in status in her eyes. He snaps with her for several days until he finally decides that it is time to pop the big question. The male of the species usually words the question like this:

"Would you like to grab a coffee some time?"

Alternatively, he may ask "what are you doing this weekend?"

At this point the female, having sensed the fear in her desperate to impress mate starts losing all sexual interest because her hormones are telling her that she should not mate with a coward who has taken this long to make a half assed attempt at a move. The female slows down her communication and takes days to reply, while the original courting male has been slowly replaced with a more colorful and appealing male of the species, known as the fuckboi.

The Fuckboi male slides into the female's DMs, but then disappears for a couple of days, while the female wonders what he is up to and if he is busy copulating with other females. At this point the female gets antsy and double texts the Fuckboi male. The Fuckboi male responds in one word answers such as "sup", "fr fr", "no cap". Occasionally using an emoji.

At this point the female is intrigued so she agrees to go out with the Fuckboi male who shows up late to the date and smells of another female's scent. Sensing the competition, the original female tells the Fuckboi she will not under any circumstances go home with him and she does keep her word; they m up copulating in the Fuckboi male's mode of transportation - an automobile.

After the compilation, most communication from the Fuckboi male ceases until the female is left angry and bitter, taking it out on the next unsuspecting male who matches her on the apps only to repeat the cycle all over again.

23M here. You are right. If you ask phone number to girls my age they generally think you are too forward. Of course depends on the attraction level, and many will give numbers as well, but its difficult without an instagram account. I was getting too addicted to social media during covid, and so I deleted most of my accounts, including insta, snapchat etc and I have to say its certainly more awkward asking someone's number over their instagram account. To the point where I am thinking about joining instagram again. But then it will need a lot of work to get the profile back to interesting again. I wouldnt say its fake, moreso that it doesnt tell the whole story. Most people already understand this anyways, so there's no slippy slope.

Make an instagram, make 3 posts minimum, and follow a few social media accounts/friends and make it look like it’s not completely dead. Make the 3 posts carousels (IG version of an album, multiple pics in one post) and just post a collage of random things you like or cool things you’ve seen outside and very simple captions like “life lately.”

Boom. That’s it. You never got to touch it again, and in the DM you can then say “I’m not on this too often, can I get your number?”

In person, now you can choose which one or present the choice, “can I get your number or IG?”

I needed this post.. I do pretty well on dating apps with getting matches ..a girl on an app asked for my Instagram I gave it to her she.. am I supposed to contact her on there.. and my dating app move is to ask a few questions where are u from ..blah Blah then say we should have a conversation.. and give the number .. if she calls she’s interested.. but when I approved her request and she approved mine .. radio silence.. so I just deleted her this morning ..I’m old school my game is natural and flows like water in conversation.. what was I supposed to do in this situation help young bucks give an o.g player some game ..

Despite what misgivings someone may have about social media, having a decent IG is a powerful tool in the dating world. Not absolutely required, but skipping it completely will be cutting off a legit source.

Guess what, I get woman all the time asking for snap, or IG, or something. I simply tell them I don't have it, all I have is my phone number for texting. And so they give me their phone number. Problem solved and straight to texting or calling. No soicial network BS. No competing with a 1000 other men on their Instagram or wherever.

It’s a way to flex quickly and easily. If you’re a chick, you crave attention. The best way to get it en masse is to post thirst traps on the gram.

If you’re a man, you can take some pictures with fancy cars, wear a nice suit, and get some hot girls around you. Now when a girl follows you, you’re creating intrigue and demonstrating value without lifting a finger.

Both genders benefit from using it in their own ways.

Do you even have an Instagram profile that’s already somewhat built up, with really good photos and shows you living an incredible lifestyle? And have you had success and experience dating tons of women ages 18-25 or is that just some fantasy of yours?

You need to be somewhat realistic. 99% of women ages 18-25 want absolutely nothing to do with men over the age of 40. And you’re also married AND have kids. Seems like a daunting task.

Social media game only usually works well if you have a really good profile. And I honestly don’t even know how you’d be able to curate a good profile while also being married and having kids without completely lying to women about that and hiding everything from your profile. If you’re extremely rich and extremely attractive and have access to a ridiculous social life the I guess it would be theoretically possible to attract a small percentage of women in that age group. But most of them would just be using you for your money and access to fun places and experiences
