To elaborate on the title:

After attaining most of the things that people always push as the ways to gain confidence (“good” job, hobbies, skills, physical fitness, etc.), no real increase in confidence has followed for me.

I find myself in that classic place where the women I want evidently don’t want me while the ones I care less about do. The thing is - I try (and generally succeed) at treating them both equally. This is the case even on apps, a format that doesn’t allow for substantial consideration on the basis of personality or confidence, so I’m at a loss.

“You’re trying too hard” is another one Ive heard too. But short of socially isolating and deleting apps, I don’t know how to do less. I legit just make small convo and ask them out if the vibe seems right.
