Not only by using sexual protection, but for your personal belongings as well.

Last week, me and my roommate brought two girls home that were from out of town. We had a great night and nothing really seemed odd about them, so I didn't take any extra precautions when taking them back to the house. The next morning, I wake up to a few voicemails saying my Credit and Debit cards were frozen and I was $600 in the hole. Come to find out, they took both of my cards, along with my I.D. and kept the party going until 5:00am (come to find out, you don't need a PIN number for a money order.)

I can live with fraud, and I can live with theft: but not only do I have hella expensive items in the open just laying around my house, but my shotgun is immediately next to my bed. I'm not one to be paranoid, but it has been a wake-up-call that I need to start being more careful. Things could have been a lot worse.

Don't make the same mistake I did guys. Be smart about the way you do things.
