Another comment says French are being French, but actually Italian dating scene as a foreign man is on hard mode. Women are spoiled by men who play the game since they're toddlers, so women know every trick in the book and used to needing to refuse several men a day (I imagine). Hi I’m a south asian too living in France, came here for my masters and now working. I was in the same boat as you, so I can only warn you : concentrate on improving your language skills, getting work exp. and getting a job (CDI/permanent contract) first. Forget about girls for now. Nobody on this subreddit is going to give you this advice because they do not have a weak passport like us South Asians. Since you mentioned you’re on student visa you’ve no permanent resident rights, which means that if you do not find a job in the current tough job market (even tougher for Non-EU foreigners) on graduating you will eventually have to go back!

You mentioned that you’re interested in a long term relationship. When you do go on dates the fact that your right to live in the country will expire at the end of your student status will be a red flag. Some girls might even think you want a relationship with them in order to get your papers in order. Trust me, I’m speaking with experience!

Hey, French here. It seems like you’re valuing your phone too much. It’s very normal here to take several days to answer messages on social media, or even to not answer at all. Instagram follower count and things like that are seen as professional tools, but have little value in seduction. We value actual physical presence much more, especially to flirt. Don’t try to flirt over messages and don’t try to call. Messages are for logistics and that’s pretty much it.

Focus on spending great time with people, have exciting moments, escalate, be in your body, open yourself up. I feel like Europeans value authenticity, depth and polarization more than other cultures. It’s ok to disagree with strangers, be provocative, to talk about subjects like sexuality and politics. If you stay superficial and just focus on getting an instagram, you’ll be forgotten.

It's all in your head. I'm Asian like you. I've gamed in Australia, the UK and France. I found Europeans (including English girls) are easier to game than Australians, but French girls are the best and easiest to game and the most flirty ones. Best way to learn things: Get off reddit, go to London or Paris and find the PUAs on the street and wing them and learn from them. The best ones are never online, they're all on the street!

You're likely not establishing enough attraction before taking the instagram. Establish attraction/vibes in your approaches to the point where it would make sense for her and you to go on a date to continue hanging out. Seed the idea of a date before getting the contact info. If you get her to agree to a date during the approach, the next logical step is to exchange contact info. Take a number/whatsapp over instagram.

You are not making a solid enough impression in person. You go for instagram and asking for dates too soon as you barely talked in real life.

You need to understand that you need to get to know her for like 10 mins or more in person first, and only after that you may suggest meeting up again or even going for instant dates.

You can’t play this game by texting, it has to be done face to face and you shouldn’t ask women on dates or for their number, if you haven’t talked for 10-15 mins at least first in person.

Europe is dating on very hard men, I been to spain and while I had some success, it came at a much slower and harder pace. They are spoiled for choice, men are good looking, and at least in spain, women socialize in closed groups, which makes approaching them very hard unless you take time building a social circle, something very hard as a foreigner since you are just visiting.
