I have one shirtless selfie on Hinge that I took while hiking in the mountains that shows off my abs. I edited it in Snapchat to draw a girl next to me and added a caption saying "this could be us but you playing". And let me tell you, I've gotten SO many positive comments about that picture.

Really depends what and who you're looking for.

It will attract a specific demographic, and will turn away a specific demographic. Think party girls vs women you'd want to build something with

In my experience, your gut instinct is right. Even if you're a good lookin guy (congrats btw), it will read as "my abs are my personality" unless the photo has an 'excuse' baked in -- at the beach, pool party, Hawaii, etc.

.The idea you want to convey is "look what a fun life I have (and you could join) -- whoops I accidentally flashed my rockin bod" not "This is to convince you I'm worth your time."
