Tyler from RSD talks often about how he doesn't drink but goes out to bars and clubs anyway. I have done this a lot too. Order a water and tip your bartender. The club is always glad to have one more sober person in the club, they'll figure you are the designated driver.

I never understood the appeal of fucking a girl hammered. I can't even feel it and typically don't even reach orgasm personally.

The best way to get over your stump is to fail at sober pickup until you get it right. That's really all there is to it.

Primarily all my dates and lays are dead sober. I use a lot of online game and day game.

Maybe work on those niches instead of bar game. I find the quality to be much better outside of bars. You will also save a ton of money.

The others have said it in a way or another: you don't need to be drunk to approach people.

For me, if I want to just have fun, I might get inebriated but when I want to pick up, I am as sober as ever. It will make a difference and you will want to find interesting people, not the first drunk girl who talks to you.

I think you already know the answer to this just needed some reassurance from r/seduction..... plain and simple gaming sober is the best choice for self improvement, health, money of course but let's be honest drinking is fun so where is that happy median? I'm a huge stickler with cutting off crutches in my life as much as possible just to prove to myself I can do it alone but with that said it doesn't hurt to have these handicaps to help out every once in a while as long as you aren't fully reliant on them.

Don't let social pressure control you ;)

I don't drink. What I normally do is that I go to pubs and drink coke (I stop myself at 2 glasses because then I wouldn't sleep) and pick up girls.

I've been on some sober-dates but there was just talking and no touching whatsoever. I haven't figured out how to "date" over there. In Italy I would go to some cool outdoor spot, but there it's too cold or too rainy most of the time to do that, so dates just end up being sitting inside somewhere and eating/drinking/talking, which is not so exciting if it's a 1st or 2nd date.

I started doing this around a month ago when I decided to give up alcohol.

Your self-esteem/inner game needs to be in a good place to the point that you can easily socialise with new people while sober. You can practice socialising at meetup events.

You have a massive advantage in that your body language and conversational skills will be well ahead of most people in the bar. This advantage only gets bigger as the night wears on and you will stand out as 95% of guys get drunk.

The only trick is that you don't have the advantage of alcohol dulling your anxiety at approaching, kino, turning the conversation sexual etc. This can be reduced over time by practice. The good news is that with your memory intact, you will learn faster so your game will improve more quickly. At the same time your confidence will rise.

Things to watch out for are peer pressure from friends and weak shit-tests from women ('Why aren't you drinking?', 'Do I need to, to put up with you? ;)'). Also it can be difficult to game girls who are drunk because you are both in a different state which hampers rapport.

Give it a try, but understand it will take a few weeks for you to get more comfortable with it. Feel free to drink water, but stay away from soda as the sugar/caffeine spikes can interfere with your focus.

If your sobriety is obvious, you're going to have a hard time connecting with anyone at the bar. That'd be like going to a book club and trying to talk to everybody about a movie you just saw. They may like movies, but that's not what they're in the mood to talk about.

That doesn't mean you have to lie or hide your sobriety. Just make sure you match the bar's energy level. You don't have the crutch to help you get there, so it'll be harder for you to do. You can do it, though, and it's a good thing to learn.

I live in Scandinavia, and basically, more or less the ONLY way people socialize here is by drinking... a lot. And so have I been doing so too, and it has worked very well.

Bad argument. You don't need to drink because others drink. Why do you give a fuck?

I was wondering how it has worked for other people out there?

Since I have been into PUA and self-improvement I pretty much stopped drinking and doing drugs. I really dig Licor 43 so sometimes I buy one or two of those but otherwise I mainly drink jus d'orange and sparkling water. I am on such a high of living my life right now that I do not need substances to feel better. It actually makes me feel shittier.

You only have succes at picking up girls when you are drunk because you do not have the guts to talk to girls when you are sober. Why? Because you think you are not worthy enough. And maybe you aren't. So what do you need to do? Work on yourself. Start lifting, buy some nice clothes, get some cool hobbies, approach one girl every day, chase your dreams instead of women. Feel good about yourself, what you do and the life you are living. You will feel worthy and will have way less trouble approaching girls.
