In some situations, I can easily comment on something and start a conversation. In others, I might see an attractive woman, and have nothing to go on.
I admit that I'm my own worst enemy and am in my own head a lot. I was at the bar tonight and had a guy just walk up and start talking. It was natural to have a conversation with this stranger because he did the greeting. There was a lady who was a little older and she had the bar's name on her shirt. So I mentioned that and talked to her a good bit tonight.
But my problem is when Sally, who's quite attractive, has a yellow dress on and I am clueless on what to say.
I feel my issues are 110% me and if I could just learn how to open I'd be in much better shape. Of course, some people will be bitchy, and I have to learn to let that roll off my back and not take it personally. It's easier said than done though.
More than one woman has called me cute. I want these social skills to grow. That first moment I walk in the bar and the first hour is the hardest.
How long did it take you to get over your approach anxiety?
