I've been a long time lurker in this subreddit and have been thinking about making this post for sometime. The point of this post is it convince more people to get out and instead of using dating sites/apps that I see as a crutch and a waste of time.

Chances on meeting someone

Everyone is on dating sites is trying find the love of their life or meet people right? WRONG. Overtime the dating landscape has changed more people are using dating sites with no intentions of ever meeting up with people. Many people are using dating sites as an ego boost or entertainment.

Obviously everyone's numbers are going to be different the point of this your chances of meeting someone from tinder are extremely slim.

Your chances are slim for a number of factors. As previously stated more people are on dating sites and not using them to find dates. Many people are using dating sites to make friends, just chat with people and to just feel desired. dating sites mess without our mindset. We don't try as hard to make things work because "there's always more people out there." You can be on a date with someone and they could be thinking about how there is more out there, without them even thinking about how long it too for them to get the first date. With the growing popularity of "ghosting" more people are getting scared to put themselves out to just get stood up and end up feeling unwanted/played.

ALTERNATIVES

1) Going out. Clubs and bars are literally made for meeting people/having a good time. Your chances of meeting someone at a club or bar and seeing them again after getting their numbers is greater. You don't have to go to a club or bar, Get conformable going the library, coffee shop, or any place with activities/groups. Conventions, concerts and other events are always great ways to meet more people. Gym classes and just going out doing community activities will lead to you meeting more people. This may be harder for a lot of people, but it comes with benefits like improving your communication, learning to be less awkward in social situations and having memorable experiences.

2) Speed dating. Yes speed dating still exists if you don't have a local bar that does it try to organize one yourself.

I honesty hope the point of this wasn't missed. I'm not saying delete your tinder/ dating profile completely i'm saying using as a tool along with going out and putting yourself out there. Don't fall victim into spending time and money on dating sites when you should be investing into yourself.
