I like when things are perfected, like the saying "practise makes perfect" is really misleading so I prefer to say "perfect practise, makes perfect progress"

The issue isn't fear of approach, it's the fear of looking like a creep.

____1____
Let's back up the train here.
We're talking about seduction, which is a social interaction. Like a volleyball match you play with a teammate.
If we carry this metaphor forward, then being creepy is like playing team volleyball without any regard for your teammate. You pass the ball into the stands. You're not taking passes. And so on.
In real life, this means you are not paying attention to things she's communicating, and pushing your own agenda at the same time.
Creepy examples: * A guy says hi and moves right into her personal space. She pulls back, and the guy disregards and gets in her space again. * A guy starts talking to a girl, and having heard that he should go for an insta-date at the first meeting, single-mindedly pushes for personal information and logistics, freaking the girl out by getting too personal, too fast.
_____2_____
As long as you are paying attention, then you won't be creepy. You'll be playing with them. What does that look like? Let's take those last two creepy interactions and tweak them a bit.
_____3_____
The key is paying attention. if you're paying attention to the girl and making adjustments based on what she does, instead of just plowing forward mindlessly, then you won't be creepy.
There's always the chance that a girl will communicate that she doesn't want to talk, or is uncomfortable with you. There's no way to avoid that and when you see it, you're just respect it and back off.
And also, don't start at Volume 11.

This is how it is being in college, I’ll never approach a girl in my class because if it doesn’t go well then I still have to see her all semester
[–]EngineeredKing 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That’s reasonable and no different from keeping away from coworkers. At the same time don’t let it stop you from approaching elsewhere
[–]Kylemoa11 point 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
So what about other girls on campus? There are plenty of places, ways and Opportunities to do so. Why not that way?

I’ve being doing direct approaches for YEARS. I would honestly say the times you get “eww that’s creepy” is about 3% or less. Yes, for those of us not great at Math, that means 3 out of every 100 women would give you the look. Now, that’s is Not to be confused with “not interested” or “I’m married / have a boyfriend”, just like not every women is our type you’ll come across some women who don’t think you’re their type. However, and I say this with utmost certainty, most women ADMIRE and RESPECT a man who does a cold approach knowing damn well they’re stressed and feeling a ton of anxiety while doing it. I have absolutely no idea why men (not women) think that’s creepy these days, especially the crowd that’s being around pre the OLD days, I’m talking about guys in their mid 20s and up. Direct approaches is how it was done for years until the stupid fake OLD bullshit came along!! Repeat after me, fuck OLD!!!

All these guys saying they are afraid of being a creep etc.
Pickup is something you should do for fun . Like a hobby . Coz for me just talking to new people makes me feel alive and excited. I don’t care about what happens . I just enjoy myself and say fun stuff. Obviously my heart is still beating fast and am nervous sometimes . BUT I STILL DO IT ANYWAY. Coz the truth is it doesn’t matter what happens whether you get the girl or she walks away. There are a million others out there and Life continues same as usual 😂😂
Stop caring what other people think. Coz this is your life and you need to live it to fullest mothafuckas. Do what you love . Coz when you are 90 and it’s over , all these people and things won’t matter . It’s the memories of the life you lived.
The old regret vs rejection. Which one lasts longer?
I love that you enjoy pickup. To me it’s like a roller costed. Scary but adrenaline pumping and leave you with an amazing burst of energy so much so that you want to go for another ride even if the line is 30-45min long (10 if you have the speed pass) 😂

I don't fear approaching women, they're just women after all, it's more about not knowing what to say and at what time
[–]WFoster88 6 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't think they're forgotten as they don't even exist in the eyes of women. You can either approach or not. Unless you rely on social proof. Then perhaps you have a shot.
I like it.
[–]LaithBushnaq 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Maybe it’s just me... but whenever I try to approach, girls don’t engage much or give out fake numbers
Ok so review your approach or your process. There has to be something missing or something just a little off for that to keep happening. I think if you really take a look at that and I mean really go back and think about it, you’ll find your answer.
[–]RuMyster 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
What's the point of approaching if I'll just get rejected like always
[–]Kylemoa12 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Because its a process and you learn from process and you grow. First thing is not to take it personally (not saying that you do) and the second is to learn from each interaction. I keep telling guys that if you do 200 approaches and get rejected each time, you either need to examine the approach.
[–]dirttaylor 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Gotta embrace that Fear! Ride the Lightning and dwell in that moment no matter how brutal or pleasant. Afterwards, you’ll find that you actually lived through it to be able to Approach again. Think of yourself as a 99-year old man on his deathbed. Don’t make him look back with regret. Because at some point it really isn’t gonna be that big of a deal if you crashed and burned. The fact that you did it will empower you beyond belief.

The issue is not just fear of looking like a creep!! But thinking on the right words
[–]Kylemoa1 6 years ago* [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link
The thing is that you already know what to say. You just have to say it!
[–]Blackmumba63 6 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link
Please develop...I have the same issue, I'm just scared to not know what to say and the conversation turning awkward.
It can’t be awkward unless you say nothing. You know what’s awkward? Staring or making eye contact with someone and not saying hello or even waving. That’s awkward.
The words will come to you but you have to say something! Say anything at all! Focus on that and not whether or not she will accept you, cool?
[–]SalvisK 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
For me it's different story. I'm in happy 6 year relationship. Last week went to home town. There was a party/ played local band.
I was alone. And wanted to try if I still Got "it". If I can approach a girl. And... I did it. It was a good night. We talked and danced. It was good. And that's all..
And next day I felt greate. I guess becouse my libido was high, because I cud approach a random girl and start talking. It was fun.
Pickup or not even pickup but social interactions as a whole are supposed to be fun just like you experience. You can have fun in any environment.
[–]ISeydouDat 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I really needed to see this. A really pretty woman came to my work to drop off some documents, she was really friendly and smiled heaps. Had a nice little exchange of words, when she was about to leave I really wanted to get her name and number and ask her to hang out some time but I froze and watched her leave for the elevator. I always do this and I hate myself for being afraid...
[–]RonnieLibra 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
You guys teaching other guys that they are afraid of women are the problem 😔.
Fear of approach or Approach Anxiety is a myth created by Dorks who were never in competition. The entire concept causes more harm than good by creating in guys minds a concept of having a giant Fear Based problem that they need to OVERCOME that they probably didn't think they ever had until learning about it from pickup nerds.
Teach guys the right way from the get go and they won't have this problem - https://youtu.be/B8ZCBnxCHOg
I like the idea of “if you didn’t know what it was, you wouldn’t be worried about it” I can see that.
Even if we never called it “approach anxiety” there have always been men who are reluctant, hesitant, apprehensive, you pick a word when it come to speaking with women.
Great video by the way.
[–]RonnieLibra 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Thanks. is it really apprehension or fear though? Or is it really just a signal that people have misinterpreted because they weren't told or taught the proper way.
I remember when I used to play competitive hockey growing up, and as far back as I can remember in my earliest games, my father would say, you feel that feeling you have right now? It's called the butterflies. It means that your body is doing its best. Go get em!
Just imagine if we had a thousand articles teaching guys that that signal was a good thing instead of fear based, how that would completely change the Dynamics of the game.
That's why we have books like "The War of Art" and saying like "use that gut feeling as a compass to great things"

"H-hello ma-"
"RAPE! RAPE!"
"I have a boyfriend."
"Haha in your dreams loser!"
"Hey guys! That creep thought he had a chance with me!"
Forever be known as that creepy loser.
[–]recyclablebanthas0 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
"H-hello ma-" "RAPE! RAPE!"
Okay, this one won't happen unless you're opening a girl and immediately grabbing at a sexual/personal region of her body.
If you're not opening with sexual assault, legally defined as forcing sexual touch or behavior onto another person, then. this. won't. happen.
And anyone advising someone to open women in such a way will get banned. There's no excuse for this.
Just saying hello, though? If you're timid as you represent in this example, stuttering, etc, then they won't respect you, but unless you're tall, big guy who has cornered them threateningly in a dark alley, then they wouldn't ever respond this way.
"H-hello ma-" "I have a boyfriend."
A common response, due to opening her with low confidence or too strongly.
"H-hello ma-" "Haha in your dreams loser!" "Hey guys! That creep thought he had a chance with me!"
There are assholes out there. Anyone who answers this way, is actually disqualifying themselves from your consideration for lacking basic human decency.
That said, this sort of response is rare once girls finish puberty. No one acts this way really in adult life. Unless they're middle school levels of immature.
I answered elsewhere in this thread about why being "creepy" is easy to remedy.
Do you!

Scared of being known as the guy who is a player at college.
Literally no one cares and being a player has NEVER in the history of EVER made women run from a dude.
Have you ever heard of a guy on campus being called a player? If so, you and I both know he’s probably doing just fine with the ladies. Alive and well 😂
Don’t over think it man. Seriously, you could wear the same thing to class everyday and no one would remember.
How do I know this? Had a military uniform all 4yrs of college. You’ll be fine.

Hey guys, Sam here.
I'd like to open this line of debate so we can get to know which are the most recurrent and common issues we going thru when it comes to game. Any sort of plateau you are stuck at and what do you think is stopping you from getting over this? I've been noticing people around me that are just getting started with this, and they usually can't go out alone. Any beginners here? Is it a real problem these days, for example, daygaming alone? Do you consider going out without a wingmen to be definitely a big deal for you guys?
Thanks in advance,
Sam

Who came up with this rule that only men should approach?
Not this again. Please don’t do this. Please. I know you’re probably just pointing this out but like, seriously don’t give the sub something to complain about.
[–]TheGreatConst 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Men want to fuck. More than 90% of porn consumed by men. Men also stronger both physically and mentally. Men are better at enduring stress and more aggressive by nature. More than 90% of people who play competitive video-games are men. Basically it is a rule of nature. Woman's work is to attract as many men as she can (by being attractive) and then choose among those who wants her. Nowadays things are harder for guys because of online dating though.
OP here, this small comment really gave way to a lot of valuable conversation.
I’d like to say that for the most part the questions, feedback and even with the difference of opinion that this post was very productive.
My hope is that everyone was able to find an answer not just leave a comment and return to the way things were after reading this.

Not sure why this guy is being down voted for stating the obvious. Women more than men are affected by obesity, they dress badly, do nothing with their hair or makeup and have terrible attitudes. You pretty much need to import.
Sorry you feel that way...but “preach on brother”
All jokes aside, I can agree with your statement.
