I have never been able to see the real difference. Talking with someone and flirting look the same to me,maybe except for touching. The only thing I can think of is the intent behind your conversations, but that's internal, not something you can see.

Started thinking about this because I sit next to a cute girl at work, and other guys have said to me "I see you flirting with her, don't lie lol" and it confuses me. All I'm doing is joking around and getting to know my desk mate. Yeah I joke, tease and ask questions to get to know her but I do that with everyone I meet, whats the difference?

So what is the real difference between flirting and being friendly? How can you tell just from looking at a conversation? It all just seems the same to me
