So I was getting on a bus. Saw a girl that I liked. I sat in the seat infront of her and sort of casually turned my head towards her direction then when I got to her I stopped for a brief second I pointed at her hair and said "I'm jealous of your hair". She had really smooth hair so I went with that. Usually try to compliment clothes but she didnt have anything that great on.

But I basically got ignored. I felt really awkward. There were a lot of people. Is there anyway to make the awkwardness less? Laughing slightly as you turn back?

And yea I'm aware that approaching in the bus is probably a bit more weird, thus the no response but this applies more generally to cases where you can't leave immediately after failed opening. Because really that's what makes it awkward.
