Yeah, like others said, it's game over. The feeling that she's into you, you have a chemistry etc tends to be deceptive more often than not, so its total bs.

That statement means just her rejection, nothing more nothing less. She might either have a bf or not, doesn't matter at this point. Move on and try somewhere else.

before you established comfort ? You don’t need to establish any comfort, just go in there & do what you gotta do & that’s it, don’t worry about what she’s thinking & if she says she has a boyfriend then just peace out of that interaction.

This happened to me recently. I was a little buzzed to be honest but I told her she had a beautiful smile...asked her name...shook her hand. She was a waitress. She was very smiley seemed very flattered, definitely no negative reaction. I went to go toss my garbage and she was nearby cleaning. Like I said was a little buzzed and got her name wrong but was close she smiled and corrected me. I asked her how she felt about meeting for drinks. I said something before that but idk what now. But she said she had a bf. Still seemed flattered that I asked. I said well if you are happy, I'm happy for you smiled and walked away. On my way out she gave me a big smile. The truth is she was flattered as in your example. She may have even found me attractive but...has a boyfriend she is happy with. Nothing wrong with that, nothing wrong with either of us shooting our shot, but she is basically setting a boundary that should be respected.
