Can we get away from this kind of scientific validation, guys? People act differently in lab settings than they do in real life. Then people who tries to pass the research "findings" off as facts (rather than correlation) tries to give anecdotal evidence about their own lives, which has even less context and bearing.

For example, flirting is all about rapport and intentions, rather than how and where you touch people. To flirt, you have to first build a rapport, then break it. That's where flirting is the most effective. It signals both cognition and meta-cognition. You're not only aware of the tension created by getting close to people, but you have the ability to ease that tension by acknowledging it and turn it upside down.

This is also where tactical flirters fail. They know of the flirting tactics, but since they haven't established an emotional rapport, they just end up coming off as out-of-touch and needy with their teasings.

I thought as a community, we are better than consuming information wholesale like this.
