I want to hear your stories about the first time you remember approaching a random girl to start a conversation. I don't mean classmates from school, but like complete strangers.

This was all before I knew anything about game or the community. Before I even know what it was I was trying to do.

I think I was 16. I was at a fair for my hometown. There were plenty of attractive girls my age that I wanted to talk to, but was too scared. I was there with some friends and I didn't think too much about it since I was having a good time with them. Everyone decided to leave to go back to one of my friend's house, but I decided to stay behind for a bit.

There were these 2 girls just standing around, not really doing anything. I wanted to just walk up and start talking to them, but every time I was about to do it, I would just do the walk by. I did this maybe 4 or 5 times. I finally got the courage to just do it, so I walk up to them. Then I froze. My face became very hot and I was incredibly nervous. I get out a very weak "Hi, how are you two? Having fun?" They respond with "uhhh....yeah" and one of them starts checking her phone. I then proceeded to walk away, quickly.

I felt pretty bad about how awful I was, but I also saw it as a good step at the time.

So let me hear your stories.
