CA here. After 30 days the petitioner can request a default judgement. Make a reasonable offer. Fill in the paperwork correctly. Hope she doesn't file a response. Enjoy a fast divorce. But she'll probably get a couple of months to respond. If your STBX has already lawyered up and is in good graces, I would think a default judgement is a long shot.

My ex wanted the divorce but was also very uncooperative in the process. She only responded at sheer cliffs. Term sheets took two years. Tying up loose ends took another 18 months. Officially two years. But first sheet of paper to last sheet of paper was more like three and a half years.

States vary of course.

I don't know the law in your state but in mine:

After 20 days, if a spouse doesn't reply, the divorce will be called an uncontested divorce, to which you'll have a hearing with the judge. If the spouse still doesn't respond, you'll be allowed to make reasonable requests regarding factors like child custody and other divorce issues on behalf of your spouse.

So refusing to sign ends up completely screwing the person over. You can even write up your own settlement without their input and get it approved. Ask your attorney about that aspect, or do some digging / ask the direct question here. She is a complete idiot.

Keep track of efforts you are making to serve her. It may be helpful if you need to file for default divorce after three attempts.

you can go forward and conclude the divorce without her, ask your lawyer how to do that. set court date, she's informed of that date, she no show up, the divorce and terms are yours.
