Is she doing this on purpose? You can get an automated garage door opener. That will close by itself once her car leaves the garage. They come with an app as well so you can check if the door is opened or closed and can close the door remotely if left open.

If it's her house that's her problem. If it is yours then lock the damn thing and tell her she isn't welcome to use it because she refuses to use it properly.

You could try locking the door that connects the garage to the house. It doesn't protect your things in the garage but at least your house is still secured.

Have her park outside. Use the slide lock that are found on most doors for when you go on vacation. Once you slide it closed, slap a padlock on it so it can't be opened again until the padlock is removed. Then don't give her a key. If she's "allowed" to use the garage, she can still use it by accessing it through the door from the house.

Rent a storage. Move your stuff there. Now it’s safe from her too.

The more you get worked up about it, try to fix the problem or in any way let her know it bothers you, the more she will do it.

No amount of technology will fix this problem.

I moved valuables and locked them in the bedroom. Stuff like my $5k road bike etc… she may be trying to get a reaction from you. I don’t think it is just carelessness.

For less than $50 you can get a "smart" automatic garage door attachment, that works with Google assistant or Alexa or with an app that gives you notifications, or closes the garage door after a specific set time interval.

Or you can banish her from using the garage.
