Some of us, me included, enjoy the supposed ego boost from knowing they think of us enough to message us. It's not love, y'all. It's games. They get their own ego boost from knowing we care enough to respond or even leave them on read. They don't love us. And if they miss us at all they miss how we make them feel. If they gave two shits about our feelings they would either act right or leave us alone. I blocked my ex's phone last summer. I blocked his social media as a bday present to myself a few months later. Doing so took a huge load off my mind. No more wondering if he'll reach out. He no longer can and that was my choice.

I got some great advice before “if you have to send him long texts and explain how he hurt you- he doesn’t care. He knows what he did” it stopped me from making a fool of myself further

YES. I get so sad seeing women in this sub posting screenshots of messages they're sending to men who have wronged them. Don't waste your time ladies. I get that it feels good to say fuck you to a guy who has hurt you but all you're doing is refuelling your own hurt feelings and giving him an ego boost. The only way to go is cold turkey no contact and distracting yourself with fun and exciting stuff that will make you feel yourself again.

Thank you for confirming this for me...I admit I was guilty of this behavior. I called myself VENTING to the Universe on the idiot's text just so that it would be known...of course it was obvious he didn’t read anything I typed!

Being ignored hurts, angers and confuses them so much more than any mini-novel you could ever text them.

A long text shows effort, so even if you're calling him all kinds of names, he's still smug at the fact that he had such a effect on you. You're still taking the time out of your day to think about him. He knows you're still there on the other end of that text. He believes he has an opening to get in your ear and possibly get another chance.

When you dissappear suddenly, completely and without warning, you eliminate all of these possibilities and validations. He is blindsided. He doesn't know how you feel, where you are, or even what he did. You're just gone.
