My recent ex reached out to me a few days ago. He told me about how much he missed me, how hollow his life is now, how he has no hope for his future and so on. I was the one breaking things off.

I was the sole emotional provider of the relationship, and it was so exhausting. There were nice, lovely, tender moments but the whole thing was not worth it. It was like investing millions and getting a few hundred bucks in return. Of course, relationships are not business transactions, but the effort shouldn't be this much disproportional.

It's been a few months since we broke up and my life is so much better. I come home smiling every day, doing my own thing and living my own way. I've gotten interested in new hobbies, made new friends, gotten out a lot more and made lots of fun future plans.

I have a handful of lovely gentlemen who are interested in me but I don't have the slightest intention of committing to any of them. I still date strategically and have the best time ever, since everything is on my terms and I get to call shots. I'm never giving up my freedom and my fabulous life for anyone.

It was definitely painful when my relationships with my exes ended, but thank God they did. Each guy was an upgrade from the last!

I'm much happier now, with a steady career and a boyfriend who, although physically disabled, always tries to go above and beyond to make sure I'm taken care of.

I honestly feel like things always work out as they should.
