My cousin had her second wedding on Sunday. She married very young the first time and her ex had an emotional affair and she left him immediately. After that she had two LTRs and the second one nearly destroyed her (recovering heroin addict that decided to use on Christmas day and she had to resuscitate him). After that she went on a healing journey and found the book The Rules. She applied them and met her now husband. The man she just married appears to be high value. I am very happy for her and glad I got to attend this beautiful wedding. I broke off an engagement nearly two years ago now and I was worried attending a wedding would be hard for me. I'm glad to say I was happy to be there for them and to see family and celebrate the couple.

The thing that got me thinking was when they cut the cake. When I was planning the wedding with my ex and we talked about the cake I told him I didn't want to do the thing where you smash cake in each other's faces. I explained that I would be wearing my wedding dress, have my hair and makeup professionally done and wouldn't want to mess it up. He refused. He said but it's fun and why do you have to be so uptight and complained about missing the tradition. I was firm and he finally relented, but I didn't believe him. I just knew if I had gone through with that wedding (thank God I didn't) he would've disrespected my wishes and smashed the cake in my face.

My cousin looked absolutely beautiful Sunday. Her husband and she gently fed each other a bite of cake smiling at each other lovingly and having their pictures taken. He knew what she put into looking good that day and did not smash cake in her face. They are a fun loving couple and I have seen them be silly together. But he understood the importance and formality of the day and respected her wish to not smash the cake.

I want to find a husband that I will be able to trust enough to gently feed me the cake.
