Men's Rights Advocate here - What does this community see as the primary differences in stances between this sub and r/MensRights?

I would say the people here are more left wing politically while MensRights trends rightward. Would you disagree with my assertion that MensRights is a right leaning sub?

I also think that the enabling of misandry in the media is a tool of capital to split the working class.

The biggest difference in my opinion is quality. There are generally more insightful and discussion based post here than on r/MensRights, and MensRights tends to be plagued by low-effort content. Many people point to the differences in moderation, and I'm sure that has some role, but I honestly think it's largely due to population differences, more people generally lowers quality.

As for political and ideological differences, I think many people here tend to view gender roles as something almost entirely socially constructive and are generally bad (not a position I generally hold, and I wonder if is due to the increasing amount of MensLib refugees this sub gets), while many on MensRights see gender roles dependent on sex, and that you can't get rid of them (entirely). Basically a nuture vs nature distinction.

MensRights tends to be more specific issue and 'practically' oriented, e.g. specific legal rights or cases, while LWMA tends to be more sociologically focused.

This subreddit is quite critical of feminism, if that is your real question. You can always check out the mission statement on the sidebar.

You'll get different answers from different people.

I think the biggest tangible difference is that there's a very broad acceptance of transgender folks, as well as acceptance of those who don't desire traditional gender roles or expression. I've seen a lot of contention among the MensRights crowd along those lines when the tradcons come in. As someone who wants to be more femme-presenting than I am, it's nice to know that a wide array of people don't have an issue with that.

There is a hefty amount of feminist criticism here, take that as you will. Most of it attempts to call out bad-faith feminists and policies. It's easy to feel frustration if you've been burned by it and a lot of the folks here have had that experience. No one here is against women's rights - I've never seen disagreement on the principles of feminism. Just discussion that as a political movement, Feminism™ isn't perfect, has its downsides, and ultimately isn't a silver bullet to help male issues because that's not what it's designed to do.

Stricter moderation,
more progressive perspectives overall,
less internalized misandry (downplaying of certain instances violence against men, restriction of non-conformity...),
higher average quality of posts and comments.
Reddit is based on snowballing: if enough stuff is posted and you don't take off immediately, your post will get burried and is dead. Ironically, this may result in your average engagement being higher in smaller communities with low quantity/high quality posts than in big subs where people spam all kinds of stuff. That being said, it is at times highly subjective whether a relatively low effort post is harmful or beneficial to the community.
Additionally, the avg. person here is far more willing to read longer posts, though shorter posts are still strongly prefered in terms of engagement (given interest).

Technically the main difference is that we don’t advocate for a return to traditional gender roles. We agree with the feminist movement in that people should not be bound to traditional gender roles. Thus we are not “ conservative”. However we disagree with the theory of “patriarchy” and the feminist idea that traditional gender roles simply oppressed women and privileged men. We disagree with the idea that modern society privileges men over women and we think men’s issues have been criminally downplayed in society and discourse.

In Reality individual users all have their own sets of beliefs and there is tons of overlap.

This sub is pro union and tends to be pro choice

From my general observation, the discussions here seem to be a little more in depth and thought out. It does indeed have a more left wing angle which I'm cool with. The one thing I notice is that the criticisms of the Feminist Movement seem to be a lot more in depth and more intellectually persuasive as well. What I also notice is that a lot of Feminist trolls or Feminists in general don't come here in droves to start arguments or create posts that get greeted with massive downvotes. Perhaps it's because most of them are banned from coming here. It's actually the first thing I often check in the r/MensRights reddit is the the bottom of the page with the heavily downvoted comments. That's the only thing I wish there was more of between this reddit and the r/Mensrights reddit is more open discussion debate with Feminists but I know many of them aren't willing come here and have their beliefs challenged.

Fewer anti-vax MAGA people commenting about how wokeism is ruining the world or whatever. More discussion of men's issues from a perspective that actually appeals to me (e.g. a left leaning perspective).

The biggest difference is right wing vs. left wing. And, right wing guys more often want gender roles to go back to where they were before feminism. Left wing guys accept feminism, but keep noticing that feminists quite often want more power for women than they want equality.
