The patriarchy itself doesn't even exist, at least not in the ways that are often claimed.

99.99% of men have no special power, no special privilege, and are in fact seen as disposable (if indeed they are seen at all) and frequently ignored or downtrodden, all through history. I think most of us are wondering when this society structured to benefit and prioritise men is coming to help us rather than keep on beating us down.

I don’t take references to the manosphere seriously. First of all, even the word itself, who would describe themselves as being part of that? If it’s something you, I or anyone else doesn’t identify with, but instead is something that’s been lumped on us, then it’s obviously not real.

Beyond that though - it’s hard enough getting men to support men en masse, how they hell are we or anyone else going to organise a male-led hate group?! That would take WAY more effort. It’s just nonsense.

Blatantly untrue. Clearly meant as an attempt to demonize masculinity.

At the end of the day, masculinity isn't a bad thing. Misogyny maybe, but they're more missandrist than we are misogynistic, so it doesn't count. And hell yeah we're opposed to feminism. At least the 4th 5th and 6th waves that call for flat out feme-supremacy/feminazism, the #killallmen hashtags, and the endless fear mongering and moral panics whenever a man does anything that isn't being a woman's personal slave.

I don't have real strong feelings about it but I associated the term with blogosphere, only instead of the parts of the internet that have blogs it's the parts of the internet that talk about men's issues.

As far as Wikipedia goes, it's a man hating website that spins everything pro men into a negative.

Most of the websites and forums that made up the "manosphere" have been shut down. Perhaps a few survived but the main ones are gone

It is a bad definition. The first point implies connection between masculinity, antifeminism and misogyny. The other two points are too vague and subjective because anything can be "associated" with anything.

I am sick of the proponents of people like Tate and even Ben Shapiro. I don't need influencers out for a buck telling me what I should think or how I should live. These people say things to be shocking so they can make cash: then they become a punching bag as a stand in for me by critics. I don't need them to speak for me, and I don't like them.

It is an indiscriminate grouping of all movements loosely related to male issues. No doubt it is malicious and meant to fallaciously defame its good members by highlighting the bad ones, a bullshit term, but to say it doesn't exist is not really correct.

Ironically we can't do the same in response, there would be no point in a term to group feminism (even the most hegemonic one) with groups like femcels or FDS, because these are in fact well accepted and overlapping within feminism.

Theres an incredible lack of unity in the manosphere and its mostly due to outside actors (mostly hack feminist journalist who propagate ill researched articles) lumping people next to each other into baseless categories. Just because someone speaks to men does not mean they're pushing any sort of cohesive narrative.

I'll name a few people and I want you to consider if these people are truly on the same team

Rollo Tomassi

Myron Gaines

Andrew Tate

Dan Bilzerian

Jordan Peterson

Of this group, all of them have been accused and categorized as toxic manosphere influencers yet if we look at the group, while there may be connections between a few of them (Myron/Rollo) these men don't see eye to eye on things. Only Rollo and Myron would be considered Red Pill influencers, yet I'm certain there would be feminist lumping Kevin Samuels into Redpill as well as Andrew Tate and Bilzerian; however, Tate shuns redpill guys, specifically Rollo and Myron. Kevin Samuels was very much a lone wolf, only doing sparse rare collaborations but distanced himself from Rollo/Myron. Jordan Peterson is not at all redpill.

I would consider all these men part of the manosphere in that most men who participate in these spaces have come across their content through the algorithms, but these men do not preach the same message. They definitely do not preach harassment and mass shootings. I don't know of any particular influencer who preaches hatred at this point, those men were banned and were always anonymous anyway on forums; you'd have to search in less mainstream hidden websites to find true hatred and misogyny, unless you have a very loose definition of misogyny (misogyny is not simply disagreeing with a woman, though that is where we're mostly at)

You start off by using a leftist website like WIKI and use it's bullshit definition of the men's rights movement which just so happens to be verbatim from the SPLC.

Next your going to start blathering about how we worship Andrew Tate?

Instead of actually taking the time to educate yourself about men's issues like Parental Alienation, the absurdly illegal child support laws and the almost universal Paternity Fraud that men have to deal with, You come here with a post that isn't just completely clueless, it's insulting.

There's clearly online groups (created by YouTubers like Mediocre Tutorials and Reviews) that talk a lot about how women suck. Some of the groups are more toxic than others.

Opposition to feminism, not exactly. It's the opposite of feminism but doesn't always act against women. Sometimes aligning with feminists for example: The Red Pill and liberal feminists want abortion rights, but they can also desire different rights. After all, there are different forms of feminism.

Here's a video for a class on gender in politics for the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse explaining the various feminism and talks about the manosphere/men's rights.

Doesn't fit your definition.

You might as well said "North America doesn't exist anymore. My definition for North America is 'A continent that existed in 1799.' Prove to me, by my definition, that North America still exists." It ends up being the same discussion. You hide behind a definition that doesn't fit the thing being labeled, while everyone else agrees about the label and the thing being described.

How am I supposed to convince you that something exists when shoving it in your face isn't a valid proof?
