Hi.

I don't come over here very often. Mostly because I've never really thought to much about Men's Rights. A few articles here and there. Some horror stories dealing with custody. Then I happened upon a link to an article about Ethan Stacy, the poor boy that was killed by his mom and her partner while visiting them.

I didn't know I was actually in Men's Rights at the time and just commented. If I got my feelings hurt easily I might consider having come here a mistake, but I don't. Instead I learned a couple things. First, you all have the same radial shitheads that the feminist movement does. People who won't even consider a different opinion, who shoot off insults and anger at anyone who voices dissention and who simply can't think clearly because they're to angry or hurt about the experiences they've had. Second, I've decided I'm a men's rights activist too. And I walk the walk.

After a long ugly divorce in which my ex labelled me, at best, a whore, at worst an unstable potential childabuser; I won custody. I'd only seen my kids every other weekend for 18 months because the state had to decide whether I was a fit parent or not. I was, but there was no apology. The judge asked me what I wanted and I said, "Shared custody". Because we live close together, the kids live with one of us for a week, then the other. I chose that because he was a shitty husband but a great dad and the kids need him. Now, the kids have decided they want to live in just one house and because he won't change the custody agreement, I did. They've lived with him since the beginning of the month and I see them EOW and one night a week.

And when I accidentally got pregnant with my now husbands baby (we'd only been dating a couple months and had broken up shortly before) I gave him the option; leave and I won't ask for anything, or stay and help me support this child.

I have two sons and a husband that I want to have the same rights that everyone deserves. They should be able to do whatever job the like, to live how they see fit. To make decisions about their lives. I don't think my sons should have to go to jail when they're 18 for having consensual sex with a 17 year old. I think they should be automatically a part of their children's lives forever unless they prove they shouldn't be. I don't think they should allow themselves to be battered by people that say that they love them. All the same things I want for my girls, by the way.

And I'm here to tell you; I'm not unusual.

Sure there are anti-men women, but I'm not one and I don't to be treated like I am. I love men; their jokes, the way they're so often low maintainence, the way they often have a slightly different different take on things than I do. I like the way they smell, the things they like to do and, hell, I love penises! So why am I the enemy?

The time has come and gone for women vs. men's rights. We, together, need to insist both legally and privately, that we have equal rights. HUMAN rights. I think there's a pointless war to being faught right now by people who don't want to win, they want to keep this war going and I refuse to participate.

So you heard it here first, I'm now a Men's Rights activist. And I'm sticking around.

*Edit: It's not midnight where I am and I have to work tomorrow. There are some lingering questions debates and I hope we can finish them later. At least the ones without name calling. *
