Yeah, but just as a man. We don't throw parades for the LGBT crowd, just accept them as human beings.

We stay in our lane (men's rights) and focus on the big issues to avoid other political ideologies that would otherwise divide us or detract from our overall goal of equality for males.

What is r/MensRights?

In short, r/MensRights (r/MR) is a community of members that seek to promote honest discourse in regards to male issues - including but not limited to custody, alimony, reproductive health and rights, and education. r/MR is a subreddit consisting of both men and women who believe that there is serious discrimination against men inherent in western societies.

There is no uniform view as to how this occurs, but many come here seeking refuge and solace due to their personal experience. Many have been hurt through false accusations, unfair custody battles, or have been physically abused by a female in their life. As such, many people have a very emotional and personal connection with the discussions that occur.

Interestingly, the subreddit seems to exist as an intersection of people seeking refuge and people seeking to organize. Some argue that r/MR should be used to start powerful lobby groups to take on the problems that are addressed, while others want it to be a safe space where they can vent and disagreements are not tolerated. r/MR is neither of these things specifically, but it is a central place where people can go to discuss the issues with other like-minded people.

Just don't expect a cult-like circlejerkoff like a lot of subreddits are. We are a very diverse group here, with all kinds of different opinions and ideas, and only things like threats and doxing will be silenced.

Of course.

We don't necessarily argue extensively for LGBT issues in direct sense that often (although many of us argue in favor of those in other aspects), but many of the issues men face as a group are often faced by transmen (on account of being men) or even transwomen (on account of often being perceived as men), and thus those issues are often trans issues as well.

There is at least one other poster here who is trans (possibly more of course).

I remember talking about TERFS one day (I'm sure you know what that is), and he came out as trans voicing his opinion about it.

If the issues are related to being men, probably appropriate, but if they are more general LGBT based, probably more relevant in another sub. But like if it's based on how broader men's issues affect you as a transman it could be appropriate here. Keep in mind this sub is non feminist if not explicitly antifeminist. We have mostly disavowed terms like patriarchy and toxic masculinity in the ways feminists describe them. That is we believe they are false and used to unjustly demonise behaviours with different roots or which are misrepresented.

What you’ll find here is an environment dedicated to men’s rights. That’s any man, gay or straight, cis or trans. Women are certainly welcome, as is anyone who cares for the subject.

Men’s rights as a movement is much more focused than feminism and doesn’t grope around other communities for “inclusiveness”. You may run into people that distinguish “that’s not a men’s issue”, and for that, it’s best to understand that this community will not replace any LGBT community in terms of support and acceptance.

There are a handful of trans folk about, but they aren’t necessarily frequent posters. Likewise, there’s a small handful of, shall we say, “traditionalists” that are hostile to trans folk. Given the political spectrum of this sub, you’ll generally see anti-trans comments having a few upvotes and typically a long argument against them. The majority, however, are welcoming.

Just don’t wear it like an identity. We don’t really do that around here. I’m trans, but I don’t bring it up unless it’s relevant.

We don't care what you identify as. Women are welcome here, men are welcome here, furries are welcome here, attack helicopters are welcome here.

However, that doesn't mean everyone is going to say that women who think they are men are actually men. Unlike feminists, we don't care what you think you are.. we just want men to have actual equality to women.

Also, if someone is a dude, and likes to have sex with other dudes... we don't care. It's not an issue. I personally identify as a masculine presenting disabled lesbian attack helicopter.

Yes? Don't expect everyone to have one view on the nature of transitioning, discussion of that isn't removed here (indeed, very little is, to the mods credit). The important part is that when society treats someone differently because they are perceived as a man, this sub discusses the justice of that.

It includes mens issues. If you face those issues, then those are your issues, even if other people who support those issues don't support trans issues. If you plan to talk about LGBT+ Mens issues, just take that to an LGBT+ board.

We don't focus on LGBTQ+ rights, as there is a separate movement, but we don't disregard them either. We support everyone else's rights as much as the next guy, we just campaign for men's rights because that's what the campaign is focused on

If someone is discriminated against because they are male, a man, or someone thinks they are a man, then that is a men's rights issue. Just like if a straight person is discriminated against because someone believes they are gay, that is a gay rights issue. The identity of the person is not relevant. The reason for the discrimination is the deciding factor.

Personally, I think that transmen's issues are not given as much attention as they deserve. 'Trans' is treated as one homogenous group with transwomen's issues dominating.

One concern you will find here is the overdiagnosis of being trans for boys, especially with medical intervention. So you will see comments and posts about that, and people can come off as anti-trans because they don't want boys to be pressured into being trans.

Another concern of mine comes from a recent report I read. It found that a large number of transmen have been sexually assaulted, and their conclusion was that transmen were particularly vulnerable to sexual assault. However, I think there is a real possibility that a number of women are dealing with their trauma of sexual assault by making themselves less desirable to men by becoming men. In the similar way to sexual assault victims who become obese to make themselves less desirable. If that's true than transitioning might not be the best way to deal with the trauma. I would be really interested to know your opinion on this.

I support trans individuals to an extent but you have a community already that has your back. Men's rights is rights for biological male human beings in my opinion.
