It's the standard feminist tactic:

Step 1: invade men's spaces by complaining about the patriarchy or some conspiratorial club to oppress women needing to be torn down, or "diversity...

Step 2: do the same thing the space did before, but now with women

Step 3: slowly displace men from the space and make it women exclusive.

Step 4: pat yourself on the back for tearing down the patriarchy, while expecting some kind of recognition or reward

Step 5: find the next male space and go to step 1

As an Eagle scout, I hate seeing stuff like this. Scouts are there to better the community and all these girls are leaving their own, failing, community to join one that is already pretty solid. All boy scout troops are supposed scout lead, not adult lead; if the girls wanted that then the mothers in girl scouts should have relinquished power xD Not to mention the interviews in that article made it seem like the girls just wanted to whittle :/

Why didn't they join the Girl Scouts?

What was wrong with being Girls?

And if there was something wrong with Girl Scouts, why not fix it, or create a Scouts (allowing girls and boys)? It's hard not to conclude the main result here is to deprive boys of the chance to be together without girls but not vice versa. That just seems mean.

I don’t understand. When my aunts did Girl Scouts as kids, and my sister as well, they went on camping trips. It might have changed in more recent years but still. It’s bullshit. Imagine the outrage if boys wanted to join Girl Scouts. It would be a HUGE news story and angry feminists would be foaming at the mouth and protesting.

First off the Boy Scouts made this decision on their own largely due to falling enrollment. Scouting has lost its popularity in last 20 or so years. So opening the door to girls gets the left off the scout’s back, plus boosts enrollment and gets more money.

Ultimately it’s going to hurt the Girl Scouts more than anyone since it will poach girls who would have otherwise went with the Girl Scouts.

Non-story, really. The Scouts BSA program accommodates girls exclusively in all-girl troops. Boys are still in all-boy troops.

This a bunch of outrage about nothing. Bog scouts are not diminished for admitting girls. In fact they have allowed girls in various scouting programs for decades. This recent change simply expanded acceptance of girls to the mainsteam programs.
