TLDR of the thread without linking it: a married couple broke up because of the man’s inability to have children. He began dating a much younger woman and miraculously got her pregnant. Blood test confirmed he is the father.

So everyone in the thread is crucifying this guy for 2 reasons and it’s just FULL of misandrist mind sets.

1) He is 36, dating a 24 year old (the girl he knocked up). Like one of the commenters said in that thread. People in their mid 20s and mid 30s often hang out in the same places and in similar circles. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with 2 consenting adults entering a relationship. The guy did nothing wrong. In fact she’s only 1 year younger than the “half your age + 7 rule” so the people angry at him are literally insane.

2) This is the big one. The wife wanted to use a sperm donor to conceive, but he felt that he would never be able to love the child and would rather be childless. His SIL said he had “toxic masculinity” and he even went through therapy trying to get on board with the idea. Ultimately he decided not to, thus a mutual ending of the marriage. A lot of people in the thread are basically saying he should’ve sucked it up and raised another man’s child so that his wife could be happy. What tf happened to “my body my choice.” If someone doesn’t want to raise another man’s child that is 100% their right. That is NOT toxic masculinity (which is a myth in it of itself), and a totally reasonable thing to choose. And also, why is NO ONE in the thread saying that the wife should just adopt? I haven’t seen that once! If it’s encouraged that he should raise a child that is not his as his own, then why not encourage her to?!

Anyways I feel bad for the guy. He reaches out to a community asking for help about how best to tell his ex wife about this terrible situation God has put them in, and he gets vilified. I hope he takes everything they say with a grain of salt.
