I don't want to give too much information, but I work for a local court doing administrative work. I had (now retired) a male coworker who retired not that long ago. During his time here (I've only been here a few years) he'd always complain about his girlfriend "A." She was/is an absolute Looney Toon who has documented psychological issues. I've talked to her before and she can put up a good front to seem like a victim, but since I knew her back story personally I knew there were a myriad of red flags. Plus her mannerisms were a bit off, if that makes sense.

Towards the end of his career it seems the behavior of A got worse. Plus I think my coworker was getting fed up (although we've all told him for awhile now to get rid of her, but he felt bad since they've been together for so long, she would have nowhere to go, etc). It got to the point that it became criminal. He plays PC games sometimes and, when out at work one day, she cut his wires not once, but twice (I believe to his monitor).

My coworker finally woke up and had her arrested and got an order of protection against her. I'm not sure exactly how it went down, but I know it started in criminal court but it also boiled over into family court. I believe it was the family court referee/judge that saw the order of protection against her and got rid of it because they couldn't/wouldn't believe that this smaller lady was doing any harm to my coworker.

Now a few weeks ago he went to bed and she called the police on him for assaulting her. Now he is sincerely one of the most docile people I've ever met. He's also a veteran and had zero prior criminal offenses. So he got arrested for the domestic incident where he wasn't even awake, but woke up to multiple officers at his front door.

Now my coworker is staying with his brother because he's too fearful of going back to his condo that he's still paying for while she's there. She doesn't pay anything, nor has she, due to being on disability for awhile now. But she has delusions that the place is also hers legally even though they were never married. She also has delusions that she still works in NYC when she hasn't worked in years. Her family wants nothing to do with her. Case in point - when she was arrested before and an order of protection was active, she stayed in her car (which I think my coworker paid for as well).

Judges/Referees in the court system need to be held accountable for such blatant discrimination against men. Now my coworkers life has a wrench thrown in the gears. He has to spend thousands of dollars for a lawyer to represent him in both family and criminal court. Like I said, he won't even entertain the idea of going home, especially alone. She has him by the balls and he didn't do anything but literally support her in every facet of life prior. And for all we know, she may have an order of protection against him, in which all she needs to do it say "he came home and threatened me" and he'll be back in cuffs before you can say "feminism isn't about equality."
