How does this challenge hypergamy or awalt and how are the two concepts related enough to call it "AWALT hypergamy theory"? Your own article says that everyone has the gene, but to different degrees. That's literally exactly what Awalt is, except we don't usually mention genetics. I've personally been on here for months saying that Awalt refers to women's caveman instincts which each one of them has in varying degrees. I've been saying it over and over to the point where I'm sure people on here are sick of hearing me say it. This article literally confirms AWALT explicitly. The only thing it challenges is the interpretation of Awalt that I always argue against, which is that it's a heuristic rather than a factual literal statement about women.

For overall SSS, both 7R+ and salivary T were significant predictors. There was no significant interaction of 7R+ and androgen exposure for SSS or any of the SSS subscales. These results add to earlier reports of an association between T and sensation-seeking. In addition, our results also indicate that genetic variation in DRD4 is independently associated with SSS sensation-seeking.

I don't get how this disproves hypergamy.

It says, a specific gene, of some DNA sequence, showed a correlation that leads to higher rates of promiscuity and cheating.

If anything, this is a gold mine for TRP because there is actually a medical test to see if a girl is a slut

This doesn't disprove hypergamy? At absolute best, this suggests that certain risk-taking behaviour such as sluttery and cheating may be partially explained by a certain gene. Nowhere is there a comment that this is the exclusive reason. Also, the paper found the gene to be distributed evenly among the sexes. You can't seriously suggest that men and women are equally risk adverse? I mean it's surely not controversial that men take more risks in life.

Also, hypergamy, at it's most basic is simply partnering upwards in society. I don't see why a woman without this gene wouldn't spot a higher value man, divorce his husband, collect her spoils, and shack up with new man. And that is accepting that this gene is solely responsible for risk-taking behaviour, which is not the conclusion here anyway.
