A year from now, scientists discover a cluster of genes so strongly associated with willingness to have sex for reasons other than passionate attraction to or deep fondness for ones sexual partner that it becomes possible to create a blood test that predicts comparatively accurately how much whoring behavior a person will indulge in during their life and how comfortable they will feel with their whoring behavior. The behavior covered is everything from willingness to have sex just to preserve a convenient marriage that provides material security to willingness to have sex for a straightforward payment of money. This is the "ho factor" the factor in common between all strictly willing consensual sexual acts performed for material gain or to save time or to preserve relationships even though desire is not present. Call it a gene for pragmatic sex even when desire is absent.

The correlation is as good as or possibly even better than that between IQ and career success... obviously there will be some who do not live up to their full potential and some who will over achieve, and there are cases where circumstances such as drug addiction or being trafficked lead to outcomes that don't reflect the results of the tests so well but as correlations go even with those exceptions counted it is an excellent one.

The Ho factor is calculated out of 100. Graph out people's scores and the graph has a nice curve to it as most distributions do, it tapers off at the ends and most people are somewhere in the middle.

Those with a very low Ho Factor, under 10 say, are usually unwilling to do anything sexual for gain, even once, unless their life or the lives of their children are at direct risk from not doing so. If the score is zero there's a fair chance not even to save a life. Wear sexy clothing to distract the new boss from how you lied on your resume? No, would rather lose the job, default on your mortgage and be thrown out of your home . Write a smutty story under a pseudonym for $100 to afford money for electricity? I'll just sit here in the dark kthx. Fuck a spouse one you have come to detest because at least this way the kids can keep going to a private school they are doing well at? Sorry kids it is marital separation and the local state school for you. Opiate addicted and need a fix? Break into a house instead despite the greater risk of prison or maybe just crave and shiver and puke and panic and feel like death as you withdraw. Partner angry and you're not feeling it at all but you seduce them and have sex anyway just to reclaim the rest of your evening for something other than argument? Not gonna happen he/she can fucking die angry if needs be.

Those with high counts... over 90... well you can't keep them from whoring unless you lock them up in solitary confinement and even then they'll make eyes at the person who brings them their food and takes them to the showers. It is their bread and butter. The very air they breathe. These are the people who never pay for anything because someone they are flirting with or fucking is paying for it for them. These are the career prostitutes that are in the game for 50 years. These people would give you a handjob to avoid paying for a local bus ticket. These people work in porn and love it love it love it. These people will fuck someone of a gender they aren't attracted to just as easily as someone they are attracted to if there's a payday. Marry one of those and there's a fair chance they'll have a bit of side action just for the $$$.

In between the extremes? Well it is usually harder in face to face interaction for us to detect variations in people's tendencies that aren't extreme because what you need to look at is cumulative actions over a long time, the test is better than us at measuring these tendencies. The test correlated really really well to how much of various such behaviors a person reports having done in their life at age 40.

A test is developed for mass market use, it isn't hard to do as the technology is very similar to other genetic tests. Governments (except maybe France) deliberately ignore the existence of the test. The test is $30.
