What's your profession and work experience? You are saying you have a university and job lined up, what do you mean by that exactly? Are you currently studying at uni?

How old are you?

How good is your spoken English?

Based on the limited information you have provided, If you are relatively young, I would give it a try if I were you but I wouldn't burn bridges with my home country. I mean what do you have to lose? You can always come back if you don't like it. When you are young, without family or children, this is the time to take risks.

About joining the army. I don't have any experience with that but there are good and bad ways to do it. There are more and less desirable military career paths. For example, being a pilot is very competitive but comes with many perks. So if I were you I wouldn't join the army unless I knew those details. If you do it right, you can get you education paid for, get a highly paid civilian job at some point, a pension and health care for life starting from around age 40. If you do it wrong... well, you'll screw up your life.

Finish your university degree first before relocating, try to get a job with the company has subsidiaries or branches in the states and relocate. This is obviously all dependent on what your degree is, but I am assuming it’s a STEM degree of some sort.

Uh, this is probably not the greatest time to move, as there's a pandemic and jobs are hard to come by. If you're adamant about coming to the US, then wait until you have more assets to support yourself if the "American Dream" doesn't work out. What do you plan to do here? What is your vision for your future? And if you already have a job and education lined up where you are, why would you throw it all away to join the Army of a foreign country?

Active duty Military would be a good way to establish yourself in the US. you can become a citizen, do 4 years of service go to college at no cost and get paid to go school.

Why you shouldn’t go: Since your life in your country is pretty good then I wouldn’t go. A big majority of people think that the US is some god tier country, but in reality your life won’t be much different from your home country, the only difference is that you’ll have no one and nothing.

Why you should go: this is a one in a life time opportunity, after all. If I was going, You should go there just for one year and see how things go. If everything is good finically and socially, then you have a chance to stay. If you don’t like it after some time, you can just leave.

us is going to shit (look at california, rest of the states will follow eventually) and they have all that cancel culture and metoo feminism bullshit and their women are damaged as fuck, if you had to pursue it/put effort in moving to the states i'd advise you against it unless you got something planned but since you won the green card give it a shot if you want, a lot of people would love to have the opportunity you have so don't waste it

don't move too soon though, i'd wait for a few months to pass after the election, they're crazy and it wouldn't surprise me if a civil war broke out soon, you don't want to be involved in that shit

You will need more than 2k. Jobs are hard to come by right now, getting housing will be a pretty penny as well. Also tack on travel expenses (plane, Uber) social life is dead everywhere. Wait until after the election and trump wins. Everything will open up and we will be booming again. Save up some money, next spring would be good time. Cold weather up north is brutal.
