It’s definitely not “too late”. I wouldn’t put pressure in it tho either. If your force it/push it too much you’ll probably have a bad experience or try to settle for being friends with a girl you don’t actually get a long with just to try to have a female friend. I would recommend it tho. I’m a girl (27) and my closest friends are a split of guys and girls. Each brings a different perspective to questions I have and topics that come up. I’ve learned a lot from my guy friends, and my guy friends say it’s nice to have female friends that they’re able to open up to a bit easier than their guy friends about vulnerable topics. Everyone’s different. But I’d just say the biggest think about staying platonic friends w someone of the gender your attracted to is to make sure boundaries are clean and to not cross them in an situation.

I have women that are my friends, but it’s not as great as it sounds in my experience. If you want to make some just talk to them similarly as you would talk to a guy friend. Have an interest in their life, be an active listener, etc. if you haven’t been in a relationship yet, it might be dangerous waters because if you are used to interacting with women as friends you’ll get used to that type of interaction and you might get friend-zoned by a girl you actually like.

Actually be genuine about being her friend. Don’t expect any favours because you “nice” and are “making her happy”.

She will appreciate it if it’s genuine. If it’s not, things will crumble because she will end up feeling used.

Too late to make friends? Of course not. There is no deadline for making friends,male or female. I have a guy friend and our friendship is clearly platonic for 4 years now. Im not attracted to him and he is not attracted to me. We go out to dinner from time to time when we just wanna talk. That happens maybe every month or 2 months. We dont need to talk and communicate everyday to know we are friends. We open up and tell our problems when need be. Or even share happy things. That one sided feelings can impact the friendship sometimes. But it depends on them and you. And 25 is definitely not an old old age

I made lots of female friends going salsa dancing and taking classes. I think it's pretty easy as long as you're not the kind of person that's trying to get with every girl you meet. A lot of mine were girls that showed interest in me at first but then we ended up being incompatible for some reason: age, too different etc.

It’s never too late. I’m 26 and I just became friends with a girl of the same age.

It just happens naturally, really, but it helps to meet them at places where you share the same interest or even profession.

I met my friend through my profession (photographer) and after talking a bit, we found similarities (food, shows, hobbies) and now we hang out very often doing exactly that: eating together at restaurants, watching and opening each other up to shows we both love. Getting high and have deep talks.

She had a boyfriend when I met her, although she recently broke up with him. I don’t plan on making a move on her though for many reasons but mainly because I do enjoy the time we spend together and wouldn’t want to ruin the friendship. If anything comes of it, that’d be cool, but I’m fine if it doesn’t.

Long story short: it’s definitely possible and it’s not too late.
