I actually don't know very many women who don't use some form of coercion to force her partner to wear certain clothes. Usually clothes that exude a higher social status.

This is yet another misandrist myth about the Patriarchy forcing fashion choices upon women. And more proof that feminist DV groups operate in a bubble fully divorced from reality. Do these people know anything about the demographics of the fashion industry? The majority of men's clothing is purchased by women. Most of the time men have little to no say in what women wear, and unless they're single, little to no say in what they themselves wear.

When men do have a problem with women's fashion choices, it's usually the man pleading with his wife not to spend his money on a $250 pair of shoes that she'll bitch about not fitting and fucking up her feet, or asking for an explanation for why she really needs a $500 purse (with his money). And then trying to wear them on a camping trip. Or insisting that she's going to wear a miniskirt in the middle of a snowstorm after bitching all day about it being so cold.

To be fair, I imagine this would most be beneficial in cases where women are being forced or pressured to wear religious garb by their families.

The argument has always been that some women opt to wear it through wishing to respect their beliefs but many more have little to no choice from social pressures that are kept far away from the public eye.

I highly doubt, male or female, a partner saying to another that they think they look good wearing x, or would rather they wore y for a night out would even be considered as abuse.

While I don't think this would be a good law, at least in theory it would be applied equally to men and women.

How many he/she said, she/he said frivolous accusations would come about because of this 'law'? They'd have to wall off entire city's just to house all the criminals. This sounds like a Anti-bullying law but for adults. They do make a few good points, in that people do argue from time to time. This is normal, just how are the police supposed to determine what is 'normal' and what isn't.

If this law passed and I lived in the UK. I'd just stop speaking to my SO as anything I say could be construed as 'psychological abuse'. Thus I'd have my ass dragged into jail. Wait me being quiet and not speaking could also be construed as 'psychological abuse'.

I'd be damned if I do and damned if I didn't.

Can't wait for the law saying I cant breath in a woman's presence.
