She's a coworker. As far as I am concerned, women in my workplace are a sort of mobile furniture. I don't give a shit what they say. I don't give a shit what they think. I don't give a shit what they do.

If she continues to try to push this to a point where it becomes clear she is trying to get a rise out of you, specifically, file a complaint with HR regarding her conduct. Do not engage her directly. Simply file an emotionless complaint and continue to ignore her.

Having "high standards" doesn't make an ugly, irrelevant bitch any less ugly or irrelevant.

People have a strong tendency to associate high value to what we believe we can not have, regardless of whether we need it or not. This is one of the reasons why dread works so well on emotional people (girls). The fact that this girls keeps mentioning she doesn't like "midgets" is ticking you off because you're subconsciously perceiving it as one less option in your fuck pool, while in reality you wouldn't care about her opinion if she openly said she likes you (which I ultimately believe she does, but that's not the point).

If you do want to do something about it and not just ignore her, report her to HR. Just be sure to stay away from words as "monkey, shemale, pussy, fucking, bitch". Also don't you EVER confront her directly as that would backfire - you'd be opening hand of plausible deniability while she'd keep hers and then play the victim card.

More so, you better have a good, concrete case in your pocket if you do decide to report her, or at least better than her "putting the idea out there and it's obvious".

As others have said, ignore her. Make yourself ready mentally that she is going to keep passive aggressively insulting your height and don't let it disturb you, even internally. Every morning before going to work, visualize her insulting your height and you not caring and remaining indifferent. If you know its coming, there is no reason for it to bother you.

You can also try to kill her with kindness from time to time, but be sure to remain mostly passive and not engage in a passive aggressive war. For example, next time she jokes about short people being disgusting, when she is done and without interrupting her, ask her if she has done something to her hair because it looks very nice. Don't wait for her response and just keep eating like nothing happened. Do not do this on random when she is not criticizing you, but only after she is a bitch and not every time.

What you are doing this way is a plausible deniability way of saying "I don't care about your bullshit, bitch". Think how insecure she has to be deep down to resort to this kind of behaviour and how insulting it must feel for her that the only thing she gets from all her efforts trying to hurt you is no response or a seemingly real compliment. From her point of view it's infuriating!!

If you go the killing her with kindness route be sure to be ready for her to ramp up the pressure for a while as response. You should make sure that your emotions are on check and you can ignore anything she throws your way without engaging in a passive aggressive war. Women will always win a passive aggressive war, because everybody will side with her and it looks way worse on a man to be this petty than on a woman.

If you go the killing her with kindness route, you should do it mostly to get a laugh, an internal laugh. Once you are on top of your game by having control of your emotions when she insult your height, wait for her reactions to get more bold and aggressive and when she insults you, you tell her: "Have you done something to your teeth? Maintain strict professional demeanor when you MUST deal with her; when you don't have to, ignore her. Hopefully she'll get herself fired by going too far with someone who has the power to get rid of her.

If you want to do something about it, check your labor laws.
One of my friends working in IT had a dispute with one of the managers. The manager implied that my friend slept with one of the coworkers. The situation blew cause he insulted the manager and we found out that it's not allowed to pry in the personal life and bring it at the work place. So he won the dispute and the manager was penalized and even received a fine.

You can contact a labor advisor to see if your case is a valid one.

At work, all I can say is:
- make connections with the right people (it's good when people with influence have your back)
- ignore gossip but don't be blind about it (someone who doesn't know you will take the lies for truth)
- don't loose frame (if you don't maintain your composure and exude weakness, even your former allies will attack you)
- if you are not welcomed anymore, leave (leaving is not shameful, when the invested effort greatly surpasses the rewards, it's just not worth it, also you can get 20-30% more on average just by switching jobs )

That being said, she usually jokes around about how short people are disgusting. Because we are at work and see each other everyday, this stuff comes up often. Non-chalantly mention that it's genetic, often from an average guy marrying a small woman that creates these short guys.

Genetics plays a role. You could have a normal father and a small petite mother who looks cute but in the end carries inferior genetics and then they'll produce these small offspring that they're so "disgusted" with.
