Okay, SOMEHOW, the topic of rape came up in a conversation with my mother. I told her that women and men alike should be educated on how to protect themselves from rape. Seems reasonable, right? Well, my mom went APE SHIT for even suggesting that women should take responsibility for their own safety. She said that men should be educated about not raping women.

This seems to be the response I get (IRL and on the web) when I express this opinion. I'm not saying that when people get raped they shouldn't see justice because they didn't do enough to protect themselves. The rapist is still always wrong, 100% of the time. I'm just saying that women AND men should learn how to effectively protect themselves from being raped. I mean, people don't freak out when you suggest that people wear seatbelts, use condoms or wear bike helmets.

MRA, tell me if I'm wrong for thinking this.
