I was really on the fence about posting this for a while because I honestly think that it's possibly the most sexist thing it is possible to say, but I think my record of standing up for women taking responsibility for themselves people should be able to recognize that I'm all for women being equal and I see them as equals.

I am of the opinion that most people recognize a simple and unspoken fact, that statements like "Women can do all this great stuff while in heels!" are said on the understanding that they aren't true. They know it isn't true, but they say it anyway because they actually see women sorta in the same light as... I hate to say it... a retarded person...

I remember reading a story about something from the special olympics. There was a race, and one of the kids fell. One of the other kids stopped running and went back to help him. Many people quoted this story and made statements along the lines of "Wow! We can really learn a lot from them!" and "They're so EMOTIONALLY intelligent!"

When people say women are just as strong as any man, they're not making statements that are intended to be taken seriously, they're actually trying to make women feel better. They're really just humoring women because they think that women aren't actually X or actually Y or Z, but they'll humor them anyway, sorta like how you say "Wow! Look how strong you are!" to a 5 year old boy who helps carry the milk in from the car.

ANYWAY, that being said, I think we should stop doing that sort of thing because we should actually be promoting female responsibility. Women are capable of dealing with responsibility, and a lot of MR issues would be solved if we, as a society, said that women are capable of being responsible.

EDIT: Come on, guys, don't downvote stuff just because you disagree with it...
