Is 'cunt' a fair game word? What's the deal?

My advice is never to use any of these words in an argument. If your opponent uses them, you have the advantage.

Ordinary language - self-centred, unreasonable, dishonest etc. - is actually far more damning than general terms of abuse. Let the nasty words bounce off you.

Personally, I am also disinclined to interact with people who cannot control their emotions and substitute bad language for good arguments.

Depends where you come from. Here in Scotland it's one of the worst things you can call someone but at the same time it can also be a term of endearment you would use to refer to your friends/casual acquaintances ... It's all about intent.

"So where you been tonight?" "Oh, I was shooting the shit with some cunt I met down the pub" or on the other side "You are the worst fucking cunt I ever met!". Colloquially Cunt refers to a ladies lower bits (A very vulgar term for it, so I wouldn't hurl it around in that context unless you are looking for a slap :p), but it is mostly just used as a general exclamation similar to how fuck is.

I suppose the argument is that it is an insult that refers to only one sex and is therefore sexist. Of course dickhead, prick, and tool also refer to only one sex yet i see no outrage about that.

It's just a fucking word. A sound that you make with you mouth or four letters you type out onto a screen. People get butthurt over so many fucking immaterial things nowadays.

I don't see why its any different from calling someone a dick. Its all about intention. And I have never really seen the word cunt used as a derogatory word for women. In fact, I seen it used more on males.

It's very sexist, though I know users here will heartily disagree. You're basically saying, "Here's this slang term for a woman's anatomy, and I am using it to mean that is something bad." The same with calling someone a dick or dickhead IMO.

All words are fair game, if someone's jaw literally drops because someone starts cursing they should just lock themselves away in their houses where no ones mean words can hurt their poor little feelings again.

Then again with women(NAWALT), you tell her she's a cunt she gets emotionally distraught, you tell a man he's a asshole, its just another day of the week(NAMALT).
