And this is why paternity testing at birth should be required before any man's name be entered onto a birth certificate. I'd even go a step further and require the mother declare well in advance of the birth to all potential biological fathers they might be the kid's dad. If mom skips this step, fudges some of the names, or simply none of them match the kid when it's born, that she be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for attempted fraud and perjury. I guess the problem with this though is that mom's could just forgo putting any man's name down on the birth certificate. If that becomes a problem then we'd need to have some sort of incentive, like perhaps no child support or certain govt benefits, ever, if the biological father isn't listed. In cases of sperm donation, simply putting down the sperm bank and her doctor's number who could verify her claim would suffice.

My son is just a few days old. I didn’t tell the man I believe to be the father he was born. I don’t want my son around him or his family because they are so mentally unstable. If he can’t contact me and he doesn’t know where I live anymore is there anyway for him to get a DNA test orderd through the court?

Family thats either unstable financially or mentally unstable does NOT give anyone the right to block the father from seeing the child. Once he finds out he can force a DNA test and demand visitation and eventual custody of said child.

I can't believe that paternity fraud isn't considered male rape.

I believe this stems from mothers some how growing up believing that because they birthed a child, they are the sole guardian. Just because the baby came from you by no means make it yours alone.

The frankly pathetic rationalizations of misandry being thrown about by the mothers on that site are nothing but complete and utter selfishness.

It’s no different than going to a sperm bank and becoming pregnant with in-vetro, it’s just cheaper. If you don’t mind not collecting child support to raise your kid, then I see no problem with it.

Every time I see anti-father bullshit like this I wonder how exactly we are to convince these people that men are not tools, not ATMs or sperm banks that they can use interchangeably depending only on what benefits them the most.

If she's determined to make babies with people that are so "mentally unstable" doesn't this put her own "stability" into question? A child is a huge repsonsibility.

When you think of paternity fraud this scenario presented where a man is not told he is a father is not... really it.

What does come to mind is that the wrong man is told "you are the father" and is held responsible, either because the woman knows or knows there is a good chance he is not the father but goes ahead anyway. The injustice comes from when the system knowingly holds the wrong man responsible under the sophistry of "best interests of child" attempting to justify it by saying it would affect the child negatively when the man will have nothing to do with the child anyway. The man is then reduced to a debt peon forced to work to support someone else's child.

I think the article is way off and it isn't genuine paternity fraud being discussed but it's still pretty shady to not tell a guy he is a father.
