Can we hear some postive MR stories, please?

My parents got divorced when I was a kid. My dad pays my mother child support because he makes about twice what she does at work, and the money he gives her goes to bills/school tuition for me and my sister, not luxury items (unless you count car maintenance a luxury item :p). When he lost his job, she didn't hound him for the payments, just accepted what he could pay when he could pay it. Also, they split custody of us down the middle so I never had to go without either of my parents. So I guess the system worked out in his case. Hopefully this counts as a positive story, I certainly think my dad has it better than a lot of guys who lose their kids in custody battles.

I got out of a bad relationship several years ago. I started dating and came to terms with the fact that I would have to sacrifice something in the women I dated. I thought it was one of those choose two situations: attractiveness, intelligence, personality. Or something like that.

One day I got a message on here from a girl about a thousand miles away. We talked for a while and started dating. She surpasses my expectations in every category. Things that would have started fights in my previous relationship are accepted or discussed.

Moral of the story: there are amazing women out there. You don't have to settle.

Second story: A friend of mine is going through a divorce in a fault state. She cheated on him so she won't get a cent in alimony. The system worked here.

He does still have to deal with family courts. But at least he got a small victory.

I asked my two daughters, 7 and 4, if they knew what "sexism" meant. They giggled.

I told them that "sexism" was when somebody thought boys were better than girls, or that girls were better than boys. I told them that, as they grew up, they would meet people that thought that all girls were stupid. I told them never to let anyone ever tell them they couldn't do something because they were girls.

Then I told them that they would also meet people that thought that all boys were mean, or that all boys were dumb. I told them that, in our country, lots of people know that it's wrong to be sexist against girls, but most people don't know that it's also wrong to be sexist against boys.

At this point, my younger daughter pipes up with, "But you're a boy!"

My older daughter agrees, and says, "You're not mean or dumb."

My younger daughter nods, and says, "I would never let anyone say boys are mean and dumb."

"Yeah, if I heard anyone say that, I'd say, 'Hey, my papa isn't mean or dumb!"

Not to be outdone, my younger warrior says, "Well if I heard anyone say that, I'd throw them out the window!"

I don't condone violence, but defenestration for misandrists is a very charming idea.

I'd never been more proud of my angels.

Dads of /mr, we are our own best shot at a better future. Raise your sons to take care of themselves, and raise your daughters not to take advantage of our messed up system.

My father recently divorced my mother because she had an affair. She didn't pursue custody and she only asked for a little money (her lawyer and my grandmother wanted her to bankrupt my father). Just a small victory, even though it wasn't in court, but still a victory.

My uncle has sole custody of his son and was allowed to move him to a different state from where he was staying with his mother. The mother has visitation rights but scheduling is "left up to the parents." This could be good if she were a responsible and reliable person.

However, she's currently kept my cousin for about a month after she was last supposed to give him back. I keep saying take it to court, but my uncle considers that a last resort.

I told this one around a week ago or so, but...

My cousin was stupid and knocked a girl up. He thought they were going to get married, but... It turned out that as a single mother she could get a ton of money from her tribe. According to the family she wanted to marry him but her mother talked her out of it.

Fast forward a year or so. The judge granted him custody because he at least had half a brain (what teenager is in possession of a full one, I ask you) whereas she clearly had none. She got visitation rights once a week, I believe. During one of her visits, she took the kid halfway across the states.

Basically, her plan was (I think; note that lack of a brain I mentioned earlier?) to take the kid to some family out of state and involve the federal government in the custody battle. She figured even in a rematch she stood a chance of getting custody to get that sweet, sweet tribal money.

Well, the feds found her and the kid before she could file and find a judge that would see things her way. My cousin got his kid back.

The downside was that the mother got (you guessed it) no jail time, probation, etc.

But you know, none of that matters. After she couldn't get custody, she didn't even try to be a part of her kid's life anymore; after all, there was no money in it for her.

He's a teenager these days (God help me, already!?), and he's doing pretty good for himself. I think that two parents are good for a kid, but better no parent at all that one that treats a kid as a commodity. And the rest of my cousin's family give him a lot of support.

In short, the court sided with the sane parent, and everyone lived happily ever after.

Good news is men have the choice to not marry foregoing the loss of children, $200k+ ($800 monthly x18 years), and losing most of his stuff. This is good news..unless feminist government passes a law ordering mentor marry to later get divorced.

Being single not in a relationship is awesome news.
